Just a little further along the Plains of Leng...when there is no moon, you can almost see Yuggoth!
I was thinking somewhere in Mordor mself

1/70th-something scale...That's the one!  And Mordor is just a little to the east of Leng...

Odd side note on Lovecraft, he once did play cupid for a couple of his fans, he was the one who brought Henry Kuttner together with Catherine L. Moore (who wrote fantasy as C. L. Moore).  The two of them are excellent writers, well worth reading if you can find their work.

Hmmmm very interesting mod to the nose, Greg! Are you whiffing this as a twin-engine bird? Or are you gonna keep us in suspense?

Inquiring minds want to know...

Yep, the story demands a twin engine job...circa late twenties. I'm kicking around modifying the engines right now...hmmm.

test fitting the upper wing...opened up the hatch too:

I started a Miskatonic University Polar Expedition Dornier based on a Ford a couple of years ago, and then got"busy".  I replaced the windows with some N scale structural truss for a weird 1920's look, and was putting together tandem engine nacelles to fit over the wing, like Dornier was so fond of.  These were a couple of 1/72 Me-262 engines with radial engines from multiple Airfix DH Beavers attached.  And then I moved.   This one of yours looks very cool!

Single puhser style Bristol Hercules in a pod above the centreline (think Walrus) ???

No engines at all.... it's gonna be a glider ????

Early Ekranoplan ?????
