"Bare" metal schemes were not uncommon in the pre-war IJNAF, particularly on land-based aircraft.

I remember seeing some dive bombers and/or torpedo bombers painted in the way as this Shinden.

Isn't the "1946 Capital Defender" box art having the aircraft carrying small bombs under its wings?  Or was it drop tanks?
To the individual soldiers, *everything* is a frontal assault!

Awsome!!! It's also given me an idea for another Telford build as well...

Wow!  Cracking indeed!

I particularly like the paint chipping effect he rendered.  Very minimal and realistic.

Nicely done all around.

Good find there and thanks for sharing!

Kit bash and scratch built WHIF Special Forces Patrol Boat built by Hajo Lippke
Apparently Hajo contacted Revell of Germany to acquire the small boat that is docked in the stern well of the larger 1/72nd scale "Hermann Marwede" SAR Boat.  If you want a loose translation of what Hajo did to create this unique vessel you can link to the page as translated by Babelfish

Interesting and something that is just odd enough to appreciate.

Found this diorama on Modellversium.de and something about it caught my attention.

No it was not the Academy HMMWV Ambulance in the foreground or that Gundam UC Hardgraph scout vehicle.  It was the M4 Sherman with the Firefly turret located in the background that caught my eye.  It is fitted with non-standard road wheels and suspension.  In real life the Sherman was tested with torsion bar suspension but it never went beyond the testing stage.

Diethelm Berlage has a couple of WHIF models on http://www.modellversium.de/ that need to been seen to really appreciate.  Here are two thumbnail images of his models to give you an idea of what he has accomplished with some very serious kit-bashing:

Dassault Mirage F.1CR built by Ralf Helgert using the old 1/72th scale ESCI Mirage F.1CR kit.

Ralf has created a very nice and subtle WHIF which at first glance looks like a regular Mirage F.1CR.  Closer examination of the pod carried will reveal that this reconnaissance pod carried started out as a TARPS pod from an F-14 Tomcat kit in the same scale.

That E10 based model looks great, I think I should do something like this with the airfix 76th armour I can't get shut of, maybe make something into a more modern equivalent of. Nice find
