Yes, once again, I did something without wings. Sure, there would be flies there, but the main object has no wings. I speak here (and shall speak no more!) of the Borax ™ 20 Mule Team, a kit that hales from lo! Back in the 1950s!

I was given this by a co-worker to build 1 year, 2 months, 3 weeks and 3 days ago, and promptly filed it under "later gater". It had no instructions. Big deal, says I, it's a kit from 1954..how hard could it be? ohhhhh...little did I know!

3 wagons, each with 2 wheels sizes, 4 wheel sizes in all, and attendant axel attachments that had to match. I had several hot rod versions going on my dry runs, with elevated rear ends, front ends and low rider versions all looking just wrong. With Dave's leaving the company this Thursday, I finally finished off the kits, added a base, chains and reins and ta-da! Done!

This puppy was as long as my dining room table, but it WAS only a couple inches wide.

And I am NEVER ever going to build one of these again!

Alvis that is stunning - museum build quality and more

I have a really old Hinchcliffe 54mm white metal WWI British 6 horse 18pdr gun team to build - the thought of the traces on 6 is bad enough, but 20 !!!!!

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Yep, I can see where that would truly be a "once-in-a-lifetime-build."

I'm getting nervous twitches just looking at all the work you did!

Beautiful, though!  Go get a case made up for it, quick.

You know....There used to be similar type of kit (years ago) starring the Budweiser Clydesdales and wagon....... B)

Weeheeeee! That takes me back. A buddy of mine built one of those in '62, no paint, I seem to remember it was blue plastic?

AAAAAaaaaaaaaaaa! The horror of the blue plastic! Yes...a hideous shade of neon blue! ugh!

The Budweisers were a LOT larger scale...this kinda works out to about 1/64 scale, if you go by the figures and the mules, but the wagons are too small at that size..oh god....I'm turning into a bolt counter! Since the wagons were bolted together, and not riveted!)
