Hi all
Apologies for being past my self-imposed deadline, but Lana's dad didn't drop off my camera until 6pm last night.

Before we begin, I should mention that I have not even touched this kit except when picking it up off the shelf at the LHS. All this is Lana's work, just with my advice.

Anyways, here she is! Almost there!

Lana is in love with NZ5648, the sole ex-RNZAF Corsair still flying (formerly owned by the OFMC and based at Duxford, now a mere three hours' drive from our place!), and decided she'd do her F4U-4 as 648. I've personally seen 648 at three airshows, and hopefully come Easter Lana will have realised a dream to see her in the flesh!

As I've said previously, the artistically-inclined Ms Lana came up with a clever idea - paint ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING on the sprue. This she has done, except for the white underfuse, but the results have to be seen for real to be believed.

As you can see, her demarcation lines are razor-sharp, the colours look superb, and I have a feeling this will be the one of, if not the, nicest-looking Corsairs of our lifetime.

She has even drybrushed the cockpit (as seen above) and the engine. Apologies to purists for the "incorrect" interior colour, but "baby-vomit green" has no place in the Lanaverse of modelling.

Hopefully by the end of the month we can re-do this pic with 648 completed - all that is left is the white underfuse and for everything to be cemented. The end is nigh my friends, nigh I tell you!

For those of you playing at home, 648 in reality is a FG-1D, but hey, at least Lana's doing a great job! And it counts as a whif! More as it happens.

About bloody time!!!

Looking good - and I'll now always think of US Interior Gren in a different way  :P
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

That is amazing Zac. Lana is one hell of a modeller. She has come up with a damm good idea of painting everything on the spruce. I love her colourful description of the interior green as well. Keep it up Lana you have the skills to be a master. Zac, you are one lucky man son.

Wow that's really top-notch work, Lana!!! I wish I was that skilled! Simply wonderful! I love the idea of painting everything while still on the sprues. I'll have to try it myself one day.

Incredible, two magnificently talented modellers under one roof! Hat's off to you both, Zana!

Hi everyone, just a Little update about the corsair, after a "code blue" progress is back on track and should be making more progress today also. No pics yet as there's not much to see, will post more once the assembly process has begun. That's all for now, see you again soon hopefully.
