That...er...thing looks like a Bell 47 with the aerodynamic bits on it. Never seen one on skids, tho -- mostly they have four-wheel u/c like a Scout.

Actually, the Cessna Skyhook still holds the world altitude record for a piston powered helo.

It had a rather powerful engine, and had it been developped at the same time as the R44, it would have taken the market.

It didn't do well at the time since the concept of the light personnal helicopter wasn't quite ready to be let out.

Nah, I found out who it was who desperately wanted this kit (for nostalgic reasons).  He missed his chance and I guess this is a really rare kit.

Anyhow, I never realized it was developed from a real subject: thanks.
