You can see the fun I had with the ejection seat, for which I ended up just embellishing the kit's own seat at my official "I am dumb" thread:

Here is the finished cockpit:

Absolutely stunning, but I think one of the switches is left in the on position, when CLEARLY it should be off while not installed in the aircraft. ;)  :P   Beautiful work Baz!

Look behind you!

QuoteI decided to build the first Mirage I saw on my shelf, which turned out to be the 1:48 Italeri Mirage 2000C.
No, impossible. You mistyped 1:48 for 1:4, obviously, absurdly. It is so impossible to reach such a level at 1:48... :P
[the word "realistic" hurts my heart...]

Captain Canada

Hey, that's not a Mirage, that's just a seat !

I think the old guy is getting dillusional.......

A very nice seat, tho ! And I guess now you've got a spare all done up for a quick build !

CANADA KICKS arse !!!!

Fuselage is taped up.  Hopefully the wings will go on tomorrow.
These delta-wings really make sense, from a modelling perspective!

That is some serious modelling - amazing stuff

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

He heeee, he took my advice, the fool !

Wings practically snapped into place but it's that time of the month so I've got clamps...

That pit is amazing!!!!!!!    Exactly How I wish I could get mine to look. I prostate myself before a master and lick his discarded sprues.

I invite all and any criticism, except about Eric The Dog, it's not his fault he's stupid

Well, it's all ready for paint...

...and I am totally stumped for a scheme!   :dum:  :dum:  :dum:

I had wanted to do some sort of pale, two-tone greys (with hint of dull blue) on off-white for a winter scheme----was even considering painting it in pixellated camo---- but it's just not calling out to me.

Man, do I feel dumb.  Not lamenting kind of dumb or self-pitying dumbness, either.  I'm actually just smiling at my own "deer-in-the-headlights" look.

And the slight trail of spittle running down my chin as I try to drum up something imaginative continues to amuse and comfort me.

I'm going to go look at the great big bunch of archived profiles by the supreme talents on this forum (you know who you are) which I've saved over the years  for either some lightning-strikes of inspiration or just a swack of reminders that I remain mentally two-dimensional in a 3d world.    Sighhhhhhhhhhhh...

Former Mirage III users such as

Israel
Australia

France friendly countries such as

Canada (Gary already did Quebec)
Iraq

Countries with cool camo such as

USA (aggressor squadrons)
Israel (again)

Countries with wicked cool squadron markings such as

Britain
Germany (they looked at the Mirage 2000 in the early 80s, but chose to upgrade their F-4s instead).
Japan

That should be enough to keep you going :)
