Just finished this one today, this is Messerschmitts little known 'special attack' aircraft designed to attack the allied forward airbases at night, it carried no radar and the pilot relied on pathfinders to drop flares to mark the target.
This aircraft was put into production using recycled parts of the obsolete Bf 110 and Me 410s, the area where the rear gunner was seated was used to add another fuel tank to increase its range, after bomb release the pilot flew towards its base at low level to avoid the RAF nightfighters. Speed and low level flight was its defence.

Here are some pics of the 'unknown' Messerschmitt.

Eddie M.

Once again, you have delivered the whole experience for our viewing pleasure. I enjoy being able to look at your work and be transported back to a time and place. It's easy to drift off with my imagination.......... Very well done !!!! B)

Thanks for the kind words Steve!

I have four other whiffs done/nearly done and will post some pics of them when I have more time next weekend.

It feels good to finish something and get out of my 'slump'.

More pics of the mystery Messerschmitt...

Thanks Eddie!

I hope to have more pictures of this model by next weekend.

Thanks Wooksta!

I used the very very old 1968 mold Revell Bf 110G kit and the Matchbox Me 410 for this whiff. The bombs are from the Italeri Ju 188 kit.

Amazing work again Matrix. That is a superb plane you have created there, and it looks extremely believeable as well.

wolfik

nice build!!!! ;)
I allways liked the Me110...the G version was the fastest of all versions and with water/methanol injection it would be a very plausible "version" as a strafer
by the way....knows anyone the landing speed of the Me110 and the Me410?
I need this info for the next projects... B)

Thanks lancer and wolfik!

I might post pics of this model on HS later this week, but I will be wearing my helmet and flak jacket first! :P

wolfik,
I think I have info you want on the landing speed of the 110 and 410, I need to go through my books to find it.

Wooksta,
The Revell Bf 110G kit came in an overall white box with the model pictured on the top and sides. There is a possible kit # on each end of the box ''H-95''.
Revell also did a 1/72 scale He 162 that was different than the Lindberg kit, I know this because I built both the Revell and Lindberg kits at the same time a few years ago, no telling from where Revell got the molds from.

Confuscious (maybe)

Matrixone, this is one of your best! I really like your work on the exhausts and the camo scheme! Blanking off the rear of the cockpit and giving it a single tail was a stroke of genius!!!

What a fantastic way to break the slump!!!

Leigh

Amazing work again mate. Oh and you're famous, I was at my IPMS meeting a coupla weeks ago and I was talking to someone about photo-bases and I suggested he should come here and look at your stuff, he said he already knew who you were from another forum and thought you a master.

I invite all and any criticism, except about Eric The Dog, it's not his fault he's stupid

Don't know what to say that I haven't said before    your builds always have an elegance about them....I think Eddie nailed it ...it's easy to be drawn in and wander off while viewing your pics.

Ian, Brian, Leigh, and Jeff G, THANKS for the kind words about my work!

In my hurry to take pictures of this model on my day off work I forgot to take any overhead pics of it. If the weather remains good this next weekend I will take more pictures of it.

Can't wait to show you my Panzerknacker and Ho 229 models!

Fantastic. I like the look of this beauty - I can't pinpoint a single thing, it just looks so right. Well done!
