Richard, there is absolutely no way this baby can't take first place...I'd like to be the first to congratulate you on your victory ;)

I am awe of this build, it is simply amazing. Richard your skills have got to be some of the finest I've ever seen. When is beauty scheduled for her first flight?
If you love, love without reservation; If you fight, fight without fear - THAT is the way of the warrior

Thanks Lancer,

I have to have it finished by the 28th of this month! :o That is competition day

I must admit I'm really enjoying this model. It's the culmination of a lot of tests, trials, experiments and theories.

All I've got to do now is maintain the determination

Did a little bit more chipping today. It is definitely not the sort of thing you can rush. You have to think carefully what your going to chip and where

One technique that I thought of to get a sharp edge and the protect one panel from another is to simply mask it off like you would anything else you'd want protected. Then apply your silver or grey pencil.

Plus I did a little patch-up painting. The camera flash lit up the new paint patches in this shot making them waaaay brighter than they actually are.

Hi guys,

had a good day today. All that I wanted to get done, got done, with no errors! :P

Mainly I was doing some more touch-ups and a little bit of chipping.

This is my favorite part of the model, the port engine pod outer, I'm really happy with how the chipping went in this area.  B)

Next is to airbrush some more Future. Then apply the decals and do a few isolated washes here and there to blend-in the touch-ups and get a uniform dirty weathered appearance.

Getting close now!

Richard.

I have learned so much from scratch and re-learned so much that I have forgotten during this build, and now that it is getting close to completion I really don't want it to end !!

Thank you, Richard.

Thanks Ian,

I printed out the decals on my Alps printer tonight, they look great. I'll be applying them tomorrow!

Don't be too sad, after this comes the 48th scale Trumpeter Wyvern!

Still haven't decided on the scheme just yet, but do know I want it to be even more heavily weathered than the 262, and the wings will be folded

OK guys,

nearing the end now. Here's a shot of the decals going on.

.....and these shots show the canopy masks finally off! Just have to clean a bit of tape residue off the canopies, otherwise they survived very well.

Woah Richard, that's just too cool for words! This 262 should take the winner's cup at any show you enter it in! I really like your weathering, paint chipping and those waaay cool roundels! Thanks for sharing your progress and tips with us.
