Shame they don't identify which version it is.   It would be too much to hope for a Series 2a.  It looks a great deal more modern than that, more than like a 900 series.

It's a 110 Defender.  You can tell it's a Defender by the flared wheel arches & the way the bonnet/hood extends to the headlights, & a 110 be cause on the 90, the rear wheel arches butt up to the rear seat, they're set further back on this kit.  It could be soft or hard top.

AFAIK, there hasn't been a mainstream modern Landy before.  If other HobbyBoss releases  Tamiya's SAS & Ambulance Land Rovers are Series II's, but they are both heavily modified versions & it would be nice to see a common or garden version.  In fact, I think the Land Rover has been missed when it comes to armour subjects, I'm surprised we don't have all the series in all the major scales.  It's got to be one of the most common vehicles in the worlds armed forces.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

More images of the kit, with much more detail, including WMIK!  I've not been to interested in this kit so far, but suddenly I want one!

My mate Pat says they are LandRover Wolf's (he's a full time fitter for the TA so knows the Landie rather well) some of the earlier sprue shots had a hard top so it looks like we get standard GS versions as well as the WMIK pink panther style. Pat also pointed out that the fittings allow for both left and right hand drive versions so will suit UK based, European based and export users

I get a feeling these are going to go down rather well in the UK in both versions and i know the US had there own WMIK for special ops.

That is one beautiful looking piece of plastic!

And yes, they probably could use more guns. And a cup holder.

I just have to jump in here and say that the Hobby Boss 1/48 F4F-3 I picked up for "spares" was nice enough that I'm just going to build it.  I think it acutally looks better than the Hasegawa F4F kit I used for my swept-wing conversion.

I thought it was Dragon that was doing an Astute Class?  Maybe that's in 1/700.  Anyway, nice to see, along with a Virginia Class.  They'd make a nice comparison build, Virginia's long cigar shape to Astutes blunt nose.

I just wish that they'd pull their finger out with that Sea Hawk that they've announced.
