Just a heads up but the Hobbyboss 2013/14 catalogue has appeared on some HK retailers website so keep your eyes peeled for new product news appearing on modelling forums in the next few days.

Looking forward to the 1/72nd Gloster Gladiator and Il-2 due soon....they're "easy builds" and look nice with lots of potential.
Fed up that the 1/35th T-26 tank has bleeding individual links....ALL their 1920s-'30s tanks seem to have them and I'm not buying them because of it....BRING BACK RUBBER BAND TRACKS!!!!
Might convert one to an armoured car with wheels, though. :banghead: :banghead:

From the looks of the sprues, the Gladiator is bollards.  The engine cowling is way out - the engine is too far forward inside the cowling and the cylinders don't match where the blisters are and the cockpit looks like something Matchbox were doing 40 years ago.

Bearing in mind that the price for Hobbyboss easy kits these days is about £5.50, save your pennies for the Airfix one.  Or try and source a cheap Matchbox/Revell one.  At least the engine will be right.

Maybe they used the ancient Airfix Gladiola as their pattern!  :banghead:

Matchbox/Revell Gladiator's canopy is a shade too shallow.  Otherwise nice (and a decent basis for a Gauntlet).

But yes, wait for the new Airfix kit or - if you're feeling flush - look out for the Heller Gladiator or the Encore re-pop.

Prices for Heller Gladiators on ebay have apparently collapsed.

The Airfix is £7.99 and the Hobbyboss is £8.99 !

Seems to prove my point.  And £9.00 for a new kit that's little better than something 40 year old is shocking.

But isn't the Airfix Glad in the Hannants link the new, yet to be released one?

Hobbyboss have just released their LPD-21 class USS New York, which looks OK, and unlike the Dragon kit it actually has a Dock (unlike the Hobbyboss Wasp !)

The new kits popped up in stores around here, too. The Gladiator is... poor. The engine is a joke, and the rest is mediocre, too. Even the Matchbox/RoG kit is (much) better. Haven't seen the Airfix kit yet.

As a side note on the Buffalo: you can make two USN aircraft - one is a colorful NMF aircraft with classic yellow wings, as seen on the box art, the other option (for which no decals are provided, as the aircraft did not feature ana markings) is one of the experimental "Barclay schemes" with geometric shapes. Unfortunately, no color indication is given, just the scheme...

Nice subject, but only half-heartedly executed. And good luck with painting or masking this...

The Hobbyboss Gladiator is apparently a copy of the Frog kit.  Either buy the new Airfix one or try and snap up either a Matchbox/Revell or Heller kit.
