Not neccessarily if you keep your eyes open: I got a Hase TA-4J off ebay for £5.61 +p&p a few months ago...

Yeah, I wasn't thinking of the Hasegawa TA-4 at all - I think it dates back to the AA Hales days like the EE Lightning, F-100 etc, etc. My bad - For a 1:72 TA-4, I'd never look anywhere else but the Fujimi kit, and they aren't cheap. The Fujimi Skyhawk kits were w-a-a-a-y-y ahead of their time when they came out, and still are the best, but you will pay a premium for them.

I just found out yesterday we can't get 'any' Fujimi kit in Canada --- I was asking the LMS owner if he had a F-35B kit in stock when he told me --

Sometimes you can get Fujimi through Lucky model or HLJ. Sometimes they don't even have them.

Interesting to see the correlations between this list and the Trumpy list... some of the same aircraft, in alternate scales - 1/48 vs 1/72, and they switch on both sides as well - Flankers vs Intruders and the like.

I think you'll find its almost like the old Russian Aviation industry with a Trumpeter led design office developing a broad range of kits and ready mades and producers manufacturing and/or marketing them. So its effectively pooled research and concept design, which is why we hear about kit prototypes that never appear or when they do its from a different company and different scale. Thats where some of the new producers are coming from as some of the Trumpeter developers are head hunted into joining new ventures taking their designs with them such as KittyHawk.
