This 1/35 warrior, made from a Tamiya US soldier, is ready for WW III. Well ... he was:

This represents what I thought about XXI century technology in early 80s: the soldier could attach a low luminosity/IR visor to the helmet passing though a computer in his back (big size for today's standards) and then he could see integrated: his sight and the weapon's aim. The connections were cables to avoid electronic jamming interferences.

The object in left hand is obviously the night visor that must be plugged in a socket in the helmet.

The camo scheme is suited for urban combat.

You, bad people!

More than 60 views and no answer. Why?

Is that it is not a TSR-2?

Oh, yes I see: it is jealosy. Figure painting is a very exclusive spec and not everyone can reach its level :P

But I am so good that I will not stop sending pics of my whatif ;)

Well I like it!

I feel as though I can do a passable job with an aircraft, but I'm hopeless with figures, so you have my admiration!

It is amazing to look back 20 years on what we thought computers would be like in the 21st century.  It's kind of like watching old Star Trek and wondering why the communicators are 5 times the size of a cell phone and can't take pictures.
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

:D
Thanks for your spontaneous ;) admiration.

BTW: I am waiting for your F-13 ;)

I think it needs spats.

Seriously, great work, ysi! I really like the camo on his uniform.

Did I mention that I love spats?

Sentinel Chicken

Very nicely executed.

Now where do the AMRAAMs go?

John Howling Mouse

I happen to LOVE figure kits.

Just not the kind I can show here.   B)

But very nice work, ysi_maniac.   :D

I don't know why he's need night vision goggles when he's already got those 'Creatures of the Night' eyes !

" hey hey hey hey ya ! Hey hey hey hey ya ! "

Rock on, dude !

Very nice camo, btw. The gun looks pretty cool as well.

Cheers !

Rock on, I wanna be President ;)

The thing I like about it is the real world application. That helmet is a good example of how to protect the head and neck area from projectiles. But when you're in the KISS ARMY, who would dare stand up to you! ;)

And I didn't reply to it cos I saw the thread title and thought it was the other thread you did with your WW1 soldier.  Till now :)
