Completely fictitious made up from some 1/72 Airfix lightning decals and 1/72 stars cut from some long forgotten US airforce model sheet.

They represent the markings of the Democratic republic of Vietnam. Circa early 1973.

They were eventually replaced by the A-10.  The DRV was one of the few overseas countries that ordered the A-10 which still serves today.

Very, very nice! Always thought that the f-89 could have been a terrific CAS aircraft . Nice details on the paint sheme, too!
King Arthur: Can we come up and have a look?
French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.
