OK, I've got the Esci 1/72 Mirage F1, and I can't decide what to do with it. My ideas so far include:
Israel
Lebanon
Switzerland
China
Portugal
or some sort of "Contemporary Crusades" tie-in

Can I get some suggestions, please? Any and all will be most appriciated.

USAF, USN, or USMC aggressor (not that far fetched actually).  Then there's the ever popular Republic of Scotland AF, or the Welsh Peoples' Republic Air Force.

So have we started bombing North Korea yet?

Don't forget the proposed Royal Canadian Navy Mirage F-1 that was to fly from the HMCS Bonaventure after the refit, before she got struck off.

How about a target drone based out of Tyndall AFB, Florida?

Oooh.. good use for a French fighter! :)  Or perhaps it would be called a "Freedom Fighter"?  Although I did hear that the Congressional cafeteria in the Capitol has started serving French fries and French toast again...

Heh, you would mention China, as I've got a Heller 2-seater one in the middle of stores being glued to it

I've got another ESCI F1 in the stash (the one with the ground crew) and I have no idea what to do with it.  I like the idea of USN Aggressor (always like Aggressors... maybe in the Gunship Grey/ Duck Egg Blue (or light ghost grey depending on the light in the pic) scheme?), though (just popped into my head) RAF or RCAF does sound intriguing...

Maybe Whif it up as the Mirage F1 competitor to the Jaguar M?  In FAA or French Marine markings?

Either the Grape or Sand schemes applied to the F-5E's and F-5F's of the USAF but with French Lo-Vis roundels.

Heavily weathered Clear Doped Linen color with some areas of slighlty darker yellow-brown.   Hi-vis French roundels.

A wrap around scheme that uses the tans, browns, and greens of the Spanish Civil War----hard edged of course.   Black/white trim areas.

Overall Gunship Grey and put Ghost Grey leading edges on all flying surfaces and for the nose cone.    A very simple scheme.   Perhaps a very narrow tip of red on the tail fin to add visual interest.

Danish markings and very heavily weathered dark green.

Raspberry Ripple!

That's my two cents.   Enjoy that little beauty.

RAAF Mirage F1 used for various missions after Indonesia totally disintergrated in the late 80's and Australia tried to put humpty dumpty back together again, or at least make him some what peaceful.

Lots of stores, snakeeyes, CBUs, various rocket pods, fuel tanks (might need to add some extra pylons), and wing tip sidewinders/Magics.

A scoreboard like no other, bomb tallys up the wazoo (50 or 100+), some F-16, A-4, Mig-17/19, & Tu-16 kill markings, a couple of boat kill markings (various warships or pirate vessels), and maybe a cesna drug kill or two.

Scheme, something similar to the South African F1 brown and green over gunship grey. Though you might want to change the upersurface camo a little bit to make it more original. Go with either all high-viz or a mix of high & low-viz markings, i.e high-viz on the sides and undersurfaces & low-viz on the uper, or vice versa.

Following on Bryan H's ideas, you could always go Republic of Texas AF.

A RAAF F-1 was a definite possibility - the RAAF were offered the F-1 as a replacement for their Mirage IIIs in the '70s.  In fact the offer also involved Australian production of F-1 components regardless of whether the RAAF purchased the F-1 or not.

Another possible would be a Naval F-1M passed onto the Brasilian Navy along with the NAe São Paulo (Ex-Foch).
