following idea...
two hellcats landed on water near a japanese frighter...
they swimmed long enough to be saved,repaired,tested and....copied...
with a new japanese engine...or a copy of the PW2800 ??? it was build in small series in 1944 and used from carriers against the other hellcats  :rolleyes:
the kit is the old monogram kit...very bad  :wacko: ....
the work was made in few hours to see if my idea works good enough to build it completely...

Oh yes!!

And if you watch "Flying Leathernecks" staring John Wayne, you can spot Japanese Hellcats in that. :P

Awsome work as usual Wolfik! Very plausible as the Japanese did capture a Hellcat. Here is a link to more info and a picture of how it was found by U.S. troops when they arrived on Okinawa.

That's an amazing photo there!  Thanks for sharing it.  I can just see someone doing up a Hellcat that way, entering it in a contest, and then standing back to watch the JMN's get the shakes and foam at the mouth!
