This SS missile was intended to be shown in a diorama along with my MiG-20 that I already posted. The back history for both were: Cuba missiles crisis derived in the invasion of the island by US troops, then soviet troops invaded Turkey. In real history, USSR retired missiles from Cuba and USA retired missiles from Turkey. This last detail is not usually known in NATO countries.

The diorama was never done. As in the case of MiG-20, I did not assign it a NATO report name. So ... you have to help me ...

To remember ...

It is jet powered to give it medium range. It is fitted with inertial guidance up to the proximity of the target and then TV guidance to improve accuracy.

The truck is from Airfix SAM-2, recovered from junkyard. A nice model that we will not have anymore. KP's Fitter comes with a small 1/200 model that was converted in this missile.

I prefer to call it THE SPAT. ;)

Did you know it's a proven fact that spats add to the coolness factor of any aircraft by 1000%?

I love spats!
