Seen here is the short service AIRBUS 303, a revolutionary step in urban mass transit. It's poor mileage and tendancy of the low slung engines to ingest dogs, packages and inattendant children led to it's short time in service.

Passengers waiting to board the AIRBUS.

Kits used: Busch 1:87 scale "GoldfishBowl" Transit bus, and the wings/tail/fin/engines from a Zhengdfuhu (sp?) 1/400 scale (or was it 1/350?) Airbus A-380. People came from a variety of HO/ 1:87 scale figure sets. Groundwork was white glue with plaster of paris poured on it and patted down, and painted with Testors spray can paints (Gunship grey and flat black for the asphalt and Light Gull Grey for the sidewalk)  once dry. White and yellow lines courtesy of Tamiya acrylics!

OK move the engines to the top of the roof ;)

Truth be told, top mounted wing was my first design idea, but I'm a lazy modeller so I found it a LOT easier to glue them onto the body side...no putty involved. Besides, the bus was already painted white (I disassembled it and repainted the lower metal bit) and I'd have NEVER matched the stunningly shiny white top section!

Wow Alvis, mere words cannot express my joy and delight at this fantastic build! The bit about the dog is a masterstroke!

Your model provided me the best belly-laugh of the day. Thank you!

I just wondered why such a plane would have swept wings  , but the answer was obvious :D : for high speed aerodynamics! how stupid was I... :(
