QuoteFixed wing F-14 wouldn't be too far out there, as Grumman's model 303E (or was it G?) showed the F-14 fuseloge w/F-15 wings. I've been trying to work up the nerve to do that one (in 1/144, as I have LOTS of parts from these 2 birds in that scale), but so far have yet to do so.

once again, you can find all these sheme on Secret projects... Canis, you have to make a thread with your "mutant" 3-views!!!
King Arthur: Can we come up and have a look?
French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.

CanisD

I'll see what I can come up with. I've got a few ideas floating around inside my brain, which is a dark and scary place, best avoided, especially on weekends and the second tuesday of every month...

This is one I've always wanted to do but never had the chance/time/energy/cash/motivation:

Anyone wanna give this one a crack, go for it. You could get away with using MiG-23 wings perhaps. Note that I enlarged the root chord of the stabs.

SC,

Nice.  Is the VG Crusader your own creation or was it an actual real-world proposal?

Thanks, Greg. It's my own creation. The wing gloves and wings are more slender than what a Flogger kit might provide, but it's as good a starting point as any. Like CanisD, I have some really whacked out poo-poo (with an english accent) running amuck in my head.

Well your creation has now made it to my "to be made" list - maybe in French Marine Nationale colours (yet to be confirmed since the idea of a RAN bird is also appealing) such as these:

If you have any more pictures of it, please feel free to post them as more detail will always be appreciated.

Greg

It would likely be impossible in the real world (but no such limitations apply to my styrene insanity) so I bought a 1:48 Two-seater SuperBug when they first came out to do it as a VG wing variant.

Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.

I've been toying with the idea of converting a swing type to another swing wing type, maybe turning a Tornado into AFVG.  Dosen't seem too much work on the face of it, but the more I look into it I realise there's a lot of cutting & hacking to do a proper job.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Whoa!  Too bloody right it does!    Do you think it's got enough power?!?!?

Love the other ones too!  The F-16/18 hybrid has a Gerry Anderson look about it which I always have a soft spot for.

quite similar to what I did for the Mirage G... there's plenties of things to do with MiG-23 wings (including Carreidas-160 bizjet...)

You'd have to replace and relocate the cannon (I'm thinking a single revolver cannon on each side of the inlet), but how about a V-G F-16 using MiG-23 wings?
