Hey up

Just a quick call for those attending SMW 2006 at Telford and what they might be bringing for the What-if SIG display. This year there are two distinct themes coupled with the usual general display, the themes being Display & Special markings and a Farnborough 1938 for the pre-war element.

With a full 18ft x 4ft display this should make for quite a dispaly although some space will be required initially for the photo recording of each model to give each model a chance of the limelight for later use on here and in the newsletter for those unable to attend the show.

I should have something for each element of the display if i can get the bulk of the current project out of the way this weekend  B)

Cheers

Geoff

Radish

Small display of sesquiplanes (Crusaders) of 5 aircraft, grouped together, the "wallpaper" A-4 Skyhawk, a tank or two, and possibly a retro-Wellington.
I'm getting there on Saturday morning so bloody well leave space.
Of course, there'll be the Tournement between Sir Radish "The Beast" of Bolsover, and an as yet unamed Saracen scurvy knave.
I'll try to bring some others to fill up as required.....

how about:

FSW Tornado "Reliant update"..1/48th
Luftwaffe Typhoon 2007
"Newt" from the Druid rebellion of 2012.
Tiger Tonaka's J7thingy Shinden in Tiger colours??

:P

I'll bring my all-blue RAF M2K for the display theme - French TSR2 fights that as well  B)

I'll also bring my Cornwallis diorama  :tank: and FAA Rafale.

I have been busy and built 5 (yes, FIVE models!) just for this years show!

Even more surprising for you lot, they are all 1/72 scale! :P

Ta-183 Huckebein, Luft46
Westland/Bell AH-1G Cobra, British Army 1983
BAe/General Dynamics F-16B Fighting Falcon, RAF Germany 1983
BAe Ghost, RAF 1983. (Monogram F-19)
BAe Hawk 200, Middle East?

The top two are completed.
I need an inflight stand for the Ghost and to paint the cockpit.
F-16 needs detail painting, undercarriage fixing and weapons (British or US?).
Hawk needs detail painting, some weapons and solving of its identity crisis to allow markings!

There may be more models built in the next month.

I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

18ft double depth is a lot of space, so I'll bring some oldies along....they can sit in a box under the table if necessary

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Radish

That's a hell of a name for a loser, Chris.
We're digging his grave right now!

So does that mean we leave your carcass for the birds to pick at!!

Should I paint my Merkeva in bright colours, or as a bog standard Crusader vehicle? Lots of flags to be sure.
