That's a great model! Things to Come had some very cool aircraft designs. This web page has some pictures and plans for a stick and tissue model that could be adapted to styrene.

Holy frak, Brian!  You're quickly mastering the art of more-than-two-spats fu!

So...  F-15 with spats next?

Nice job!

I'm grateful for your comments, gents! Frank, thanks for posting that link. I was Googling for some film stills of the aircraft in the film, but came up empty. One of these days, I want to build one of those multi-engined, twin-fuselage transports.

Anthony, if I had two F-15s, I'd make one biplane out of them and add...

...wait for it...

SPATS!!!

I love spats!

P.S. The front end is the one facing the same direction as the codes on the wings.

Very cool and inspirational! You sure this one didn't talk to you,...... maybe just a little whisper? ;)  B)

QuoteThe fuselage is part of an old pen that was of just the right diameter to mate with the spare props. The canopy is left over from my 1/144 B-47 and the wings were swiped from my 1/72 Testor's Spitfire Mk. XXII. I cut the wings at an angle to join with the fuse for that swept-back look. The wingtip rudders were scratched from part of a spare bulkhead and plastic bread bag clips. The exhausts were leftover from a Ju-88 and the air intakes were leftover from my Airfix Me-109G. I scratched the spats from lengths of sprue and pieces of plastic sheet and a little bit of putty to smooth over the joins.
   Incredible amount of creative spirit with a so wonderful result... How can spare parts and an old pen generate such a beauty? This is talent, this is art, simply, congratulations!

Well, geez, okay------with something this cool, I admit: "It is a scientifically proven fact that spats add 1000% to the coolness factor of any airplane."

Great job, Brian!!

And I'm really going to have to find a copy of that movie on disc...
Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.

Something I could have been build :)
King Arthur: Can we come up and have a look?
French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.

Runway ? ...

Nice !  There's some great shapes going on in there. It's kinda inspirational. Might have to go and cannibalise some perfectly serviceable kits now.
Cheers   :)

Well that's a real "Blue Peter" model  ;)

Any ideas' about some of the other aircraft in the film Brian ? Havn't seen it for ages but how about one of the large "gas bombers" ?

I've been wanting to build one of those large "Gas of Peace" bombers for some time. I've got some left-over 1/72 Stuka wings that I could use. Now all I've got to do is figure out the rest. Maybe I could pull it off in 1/144 scale. You may have inspired me to get cracking on this project! Thanks Chris!

Watching the film, I imagined the giant bombers with a wet bar and dining room for the soldier's comfort, full staterooms and a movie theater (or theater).

It really does look a bit like Norman Bel Geddes' Airliner. There are more pictures here.

Dude you need help.

Actually it's really cool, very retro futuristic, mind you it also looks like you could slap the fuselage on the grill then stick it a bun with some mustard

Once again a masterpiece from your twisted mind.

I invite all and any criticism, except about Eric The Dog, it's not his fault he's stupid
