What the hell is that thing ???
King Arthur: Can we come up and have a look?
French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.

Looks like the thing Cayley tried sending up sometime in the 1800s. The steam engine was, um, somewhat heavy.  ^_^

But I've heard that his ideas were actually pretty good, it's just that the available technology wasn't up to the task.

I was in the car ready to head to that show, about 10 minutes away from me, and as I turned the key the boss beeped. He kept me busy the rest of the day with dinky little runs around town that earned some coin, but screwed my model show plans.

EDIT: Whoops! Just read the page and it says Exeter Ajax, not Ajax Ontario. Must have been a different one?

Well, for one thing, it is a supreme example of at least one more person in the world who can run circles around me when it comes to rigging a model!!

Amazing workmanship!

Um, correct me if I'm wrong, but that Maxim contraption actually made a hop, didn't it?

That Luftwaffe 747/Shuttle combo looks like something from the Harry Turtledove Colonization books; Cover art for one of the books has shuttles in orbit-with German markings.
