In the open stretcher pod you can see the board and rails to support the stretcher. Well, I have to admit that the passenger will not have a confortable flight.

Is this a tiny window above the stretcher head ? What a pleasant sight towards the stars... (anf forthcoming Heaven?)

More recentley was the Avpro EXINT (extraction/insertion) pod.  It was designed to be fitted on Harriers & combat helicopters & two people could fit in each pod.  I'm pretty sure there was a medevac version planned.  Dissapeared along with Avpro.



IIRC there was also a parachuted version that was designed to be dropped rather like a bomb!  Rather Johnny SAS than me.....  :dum:

Actually, a similar pod was designed for the Su-25 Frogfoot! But it was meant as transport, not medevac. It was never put in real service, coz it was too uncomfortable.

Hobbycraft's Frogfoot is a very inaccurate model, probably based on early reports. I took these containers because they fit with my project. I did not know what they were. Afterwards, I read they were for cargo. Your post is the first time I read about this purpose.

Now, THIS is what I call "out-of-the-box" thinking.  Very ingenius!  

Just make sure the props have come to a full stop before loading or unloading a gurney!
