1/24 Car-boat with a Merlin engine. 1/24 Range Rover 4x4, 1/72 Lifeboat hull, 1/24 steering wheel, seats, glazing. Loads of chrome, exhaust pipes. Decking real wood veneer, headlights and tail lights, prop/screws, rudder.
Based on a real-world design.

You mean Top Gear? That's not entirely "real world".  ;D
In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.

So its going to be Hammond's VW overweight boat/caravan thingy that sank?

On the workbench:

1. Build a 1/700 USS Kearsarge LHD into a hospital ship for disaster/humanitarian relief.
2. Build a 1/350 TAMIYA USS Enterprise aircraft carrier for my best friend. (This is not a WHIF project.)
3. Finish decaling and making water effects for this subject here:
http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,34405.0.html

Future projects:

1. Build another 1/350 USS Montana battleship.
2. F-15SE Silent Eagle
3. Special F/A-18E in Wolfpack markings if the Wolfpack squadron still existed.
4. Build SR-75 Penetrator into a B-3 hypersonic stealth bomber.
5. Build a 1/350 TAMIYA USS Enterprise a/c into a stealth aircraft carrier.
6. F-15 built to carry AIM-54 Phoenix missiles.
7. Space 1999 moonbase diorama turned into a military moonbase with fighters and weapon defenses.
8. Turn a M1 Abrams tank into a new air defense weapon system with a new turret.
9. USS Independence LCS-2 with more weapons.
10. LAV-25 APC turned into a "family camper" as a humorous subject.
11. Classic old style circular Battlestar Galactica Cylon Basestar turned into......?
12. USS Kentucky IOWA class battleship built into a proposed BBG missile battleship of the 1950's.
Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

or this:

Wow!! not quite what I had in mind. I picked up a few copies of 'Custom Car' mag. There's a guy who used a robin reliant chassis and put a fibre glass speed boat on top. The Swiss have a design team that have created a hydrofoil car.

I picked up a 'Truck Accessories pack 2' without the crane attachment. This has all the chrome parts and thought of using the exhaust parts on my 1/24 car builds.
The 1/48 Northrop Snark kit bought for a tenner has a few parts missing but the cruise missile could be converted into a fighter aircraft. Double canopy and tail fins, undercarriage wheels and weapons to replace the rocket pods.
Whilst the launching platform is used with a TSR-2 with rockets. the TSR-2 won't be fixed to the launcher as I have a few other builds I want to try out. The bulldozer will be stripped of parts and used with a Land Rover idea I have. Instead of using the wheels, the Caterpillar tracks will used instead.

Current projects for the near future:
- beauty pics of two finished Japanese J10F1 fighters (WIP, soon the come)
- Merkava SF-conversion, with two barrels and six (moveable) legs, maybe plus diorama
- Merlin-driven Westland Whirlwind (FB.2) as night intruder

Many more whif ideas in store...

Oh for goodness sake................ :banghead:

It's not a 'Robin Reliant', it's a RELIANT ROBIN!!!!!!

If I ever get to meet that jerk Clarkson, who started this 'Robin Reliant' business off, I'll deck him! If I can get up that high......

Do people call them 'Beetle Volkswagens'? Or 'Mini BMCs'? Or 'Mondeo Fords'? No, they call them by their correct names!

Bet somewhere in some military document there down as that Kit  ;D Brown bags, puke, personal
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Wasn't a Regal they used in 'Only fools and horses'?
I've met Clarkson, came across timid and shy. That's the episode Mays' car ran out of petrol outside 33 Kings Street, headquarters of Rolex and where they filmed Hotel Babalon. Back end of St James's Square.

PR19_Kit

Yes, it was a Reliant Regal van they had in 'Only Fools and Horses'.

It had almost the same chassis as the Robin, but with a larger version of Reliant's all-ali engine.

The Jaguar E-type is refered as the E-type Jag.
Other planned builds include a London Taxi FX4 1/24. The rear seats moved forward, a seat fitted to the front passenger side. With the space created by moving the seats forward the rear can either have a hatchback or two doors like the Mini Clubman or Morris Traveller.
A 'Hot Rod' version, chopped small version and stretched.

Some sort of motorhome or mobile communications center based on a routemaster bus. (an Air-Bus!!)

Hotte

A further project was a Grumman F9F Panther.
To build an Italian Reggiane Re. 3003  ;D
The F9 has an Italian style!

Or you could do an FX4 minivan, with hatchback and sliding rear doors...
