Other planned builds include a London Taxi FX4 1/24. The rear seats moved forward, a seat fitted to the front passenger side. With the space created by moving the seats forward the rear can either have a hatchback or two doors like the Mini Clubman or Morris Traveller.

Or you could do an FX4 minivan, with hatchback and sliding rear doors...
That idea appeared in a sketch for the hatchback and the sliding doors on a clay mock up. 'Chop Shop London' for a private customer. 'Pimp my ride' have also done their own version of a FX4 with a bench seat running down the right side with the right hand door welded shut. 'Scrap heap challenge' also featured two FX4s, cut in half and the front ends welded together.

Tomintoul Wildcat

Now on workbench - Westland/Fairey War Hammer AT-AT ( Armed Tactical Assault Transport). Based on the Revell Fairey Rotodyne. Powered by 2 Allison T-56 engines. Fitted with extended wings with tip tanks. 4 under wing pylons for a variety of nasties!!

I have also started the SR-75 part of the Italeri "Project Aurora" dual kit. My interpretation of the XR-7 was featured on this forum earlier. I have in mind a hypersonic bomber version. Have to build bomb bay(s) into it. I don't think external stores would be feasible on a Mach 6 aircraft!!

Coming soon to a whifworld near you;

I tried to make the twin Victor picture bigger but failed! Sorry. However, you get the idea. I don't like the single tail though. I propose to use both tail units & join the central tailplanes . I also propose a single cockpit but, whichever fuselage is used, view will be restricted on one side. Maybe shifting the pilots to a raised cockpit?

With the impending re release of the Aoshima Fireflash airliner,I have just GOT to have one of those !!

In addition to these, there will also be ;
a follow on to my B-56 featured elsewhere on this forum
A 4 engined DC-10 featuring a V tail ( 2 rear mounted engines)
Airbus/Antonov A450 freighter  - based on Antonov AN 124. R R Trent powered
Short "Hyper" Stirling ( See Tonton/ThonThon's profiles!)

Parts from the 1931 Bugatti Royal 1/24 will be used on the 'Truck hot rod/lame duck' project.
The 1/24 Aoshima Range Rover will get another rear axle, Commando fire truck six wheel drive, although an eight wheel drive beastie with a Merlin engine, seems tempting.

The Airfix Lifeboat would look good with the heavy guns taken from the RAF Launch.

Might use the radiator grill from the revel 1/24 Austin FX4 taxi on my Morris Mini Minor for my Riley build.

As the 1/144 Boeing 747 is getting one pair of engines from a 1/72 B-52. the other pair could fit on a
MRC-135. I could use the Nimrod weapons bay and glue that to the lower fuselage, saves all that cutting and swearing.
One of the Rotordynes gets the main rotor chopped off and V-22 Osprey wings whilst the other gets the engines from a HH-54 Sky Crane and loses the tip jet pods.

When my heavy duty paste table arrives, the top will be turned into a temporary airfield. Whilst the shelves get filled with my 'current build projects stash'.

The Wooksta!

This week, I ar mostly bin buildin' Attackers.

Frog/Novo ones and as they'll be flying ones, I just have to add some platic card blanking plates in the intakes, add a resin canopy (solid), rescribe a few panel lines and sand everything else off.

Getting back to the Revell 1/24 Austin FX4 Taxi, I think I've sourced the parts for the idea of sliding side doors. Saw a MPV on eBay with sliding doors, this will mean cutting the FX4 and removing the middle section of the taxi and replacing the donar section. Plastic card could be used to continue the classic lines of the taixi.
Failing that someone out bids me, a scratch build wouldn't be that difficult. I'll have to wait until the kit arrives.
Or go for a 'Flying taxi' and use up the spare parts of the Spitfire!!

You could use the FX4 body and doors, just convert the doors to slide instead of hinge. Add a couple of rails to the body, and you're done.

From the MiG-21 thread I consider a 1:72 MiG-21bis in German Luftwaffe markings - if they had taken the GDR aircraft into service in the late 80ies. Probably armed with modern Sidewinders and in the Norm '81 A livery. That should look weird...

I am also thinking about adding my interpretation to the endless "F4U with a Centaurus engine" pool of inspiration. Thinking about RAAF/RAN at the moment...

Another idea is a Ryan Dark Shark for the Canadian Navy - as an interim fighter between the Sea Fury and the Banshee for the Korean War era.

At the moment I am in the final touches for my MiG-SPB project, and next will probably be an anime character figure -  even though a fan-fiction-based whif, too!

Thanks, never thought of that

The Bundesluftwaffe MiG-21 is coming to an end - I am amazed that I got it together in just four(!) days from sprues to "ready for beauty pics" status.

Might make and post some with the respective story from the 90ies next weekend - already have some ideas, and the machine looks pretty cool and believable.

Using an airfix 1/72 Bristol Superfreighter as a base model. Add the Airfix wings, remove the engines and replace them with a set from a P-3 Orion. Add the main undercarriage from the C-130 to the fuselage halves. Raise the cockpit floor to allow high-sided vehicles in the cargo hold.

1/24 Ford Capri built Zakspeed. Convert into a Motorcross vehicle, add wing mirrors and passenger seat. Rear tail light cluster and number plate(s). A few extra dials on the dashboard.
Monogram Lincoln Ventura, not going for a Batmobile. I thought of 'Thunderbirds' instead maybe FAB3. Sprayed pink with missiles and cannon.
Parts left over from the Range Rover 6x4 conversion can go forward to 'Metrocab'.

1/72 R.N.L.I. Lifeboat, to get the heavy guns from a RAF Launch. As the Launch is deviod of its weapons, either a pleasure craft or CoastGuuard Rescue. Swapping over colour schemes.

Once I've got the batch build of flying Attackers to "ready to prime" stage, it's back to Spitfires proper, although I've dug out a Magna Spiteful which is likely to be another PR15 variant.  At the same time, I also took an Airfix IXc out of the stash, which will be converted to a XVIe high back with the full span wing (see The Plan Blog for more)

I may have a look at the Heritage Supermarine 224 that got partially cleaned up last year, as I could do with another one in the line up.  I need some Spanish markings for that one, ideally from that new sheet for Henschel Hs 123s.

That is brilliant, I love it.

Using a 1/72 Yak-38 Forger and F-4 Phantom to create a V/STOL Phantom.
As I'll be using parts from a 1/72 MH-53 on the Rotordyne (Starlite) build the fuselage and left over parts could be used to extend a HH-53 'Super Jolly Green Giant's fuselage. The Revel 1/72 'Jolly Green Giant' is undergoing conversion into a something flown by the Royal Navy. Parts from an Airfix Sea King AEW, have been added.
I also had the idea of building my own version of the Mil-24 Hind, using a Sea King rear and an Apache front end.
