Current build list:

1. 1/350 USS Solace amphibious hospital ship built from a USS Wasp LHD kit.

In the future:  (Doubt how much I'll get to before I die or before what's left of my eyesight goes away.)

1. Modern USS New Jersey battleship with more armament than you can shake a stick at. It'll be so heavily armed, it'll make the Chinese, Russians, and North Koreans shake in their boots!  ;D
2. Carpet Monster
3. Whif a Cylon Basestar into a Russian orbital platform.
4. Star Trek Deep Space Nine station. Not sure what to whif it into.
5. Build a second 1/700 scale HMS Habakkuk
6. Build a 1/350 scale HMS Habakkuk. (Might take me 10 years.)
7. Convert a XB-35/YB-49 Flying Wing into a Soviet flying wing.
8. Convert a 1/350 TAMIYA Enterprise carrier into a stealth aircraft carrier.
9. Build a second 1/350 USS Montana battleship.
10. Build either the H39 or H45 or somewhere in between, one of the proposed German super battleships in 1/350 scale.
11. 1/35 scale Landkreuser P1000 Ratte German super tank.
12. Build a WWII IOWA battleship/carrier. Only one official drawing exists and it ain't much to go by. The whole project will have to be scratchbuilt.
13. Korean war B-25
14. Scratchbuild a oil rig type platform and turn it into a military seabase.
15. Space 1999 military moonbase diorama.
16. Space 1999 Eagle transporter turned into a US Marine Corps troop transport.
17. 1/350 O.H. Perry frigate OOB, but with slight weapon improvements.
18. Testor SR-75 Penetrator into a what if B-3 stealth bomber.
19. BSG Colonial Viper into either a USAF or US Navy fighter craft.
20. Stryker AFV into an RV camper.
21. Battlestar Galactica with four flight pods.
22. Build every (or as much as I can) stealth aircraft, ship, etc. in 1/700, 1/144, or smaller scales for a special stealth display.
23. Testor B-2 stealth bomber OOB
24. FA-18E/F special project. No other info. available.
25. BSG Pegasus, but with a little more gun turret armament.
26. 1/48 F-15 Eagle, but with Phoenix missiles.
27. Academy 1/48 F-22 OOB.
28. Testor 1/32 YF-22. Not sure what to whif this into.
29. 1/350 scale NCC-1701-A. Might build OOB, or might add a few more phasers and photon torpedos.
30. Maybe build a LCS littoral combat ship into a Coast Guard ship.
............and I STILL have too many more crazy ideas in my head!  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D
Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

I've considered this one myself;
Scratchbuild a oil rig type platform and turn it into a military seabase.
Main question would be what scale? 1/700...1/350? Deep sea oil drilling rigs can be very big. It would need a much larger helicopter deck.

As well as whatever i've posted previously I need to build;
A bigger display cabinet with hinged shelves that swing out of the way so I can hang large builds on the back wall (this will be more a display closet I think).
A display case for the Henfield.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Holy smokes ! You guys have huge lists ! How can you do that many, especially the complex ships !?

Lately I've been thinking of a T Lightning cockpit/ nose section on a Hawker Hunter as a trainer for deck landing the 'real' Naval VG Lightning.

My list will extend well into my retirement.

Lately I've been thinking of a T Lightning cockpit/ nose section on a Hawker Hunter as a trainer for deck landing the 'real' Naval VG Lightning.

In the RW I suspect they'd have just changed the instrument panel of a fully navalised T7. The two cockpits are pretty similar in shape as they are.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Captain Canada

Yes you are probably right ! But that wouldn't look nearly as cool, and that also wouldn't give me the excuse to go buy that Hunter kit !

Seaplanes /flying boats are a fascination of mine. In the past I've tried kitbashing my own designs. Getting hold of the right hull or sponson size has eluded me. However reading the Convair designs and concepts book this has opened my eyes to the possibilities.Instead of one V-hull I could use the hulls from two Catalina kits minus the wings as the floatation gear for the larger builds and the Grumman Duck for a few of the smaller builds.
I'm still saving the pennies up to get the Sea Master, Mariner , Sunderland and PS-1 kits.
The C-97 looks great with shoulder mounted wings off the Airfix BAe Nimrod, sort of mini- Sea Princess. Although there's something similar penned by Convair as a 100 seater flying boat in PAN AM livery during the 1950s.
There is a design based on a flying boat version of the XC-99.
As for the B-58 Hustler, a rearrangement of the engines. Two fixed to the vertical tail plane and one under each wing. With a similar layout to the Sea Dart using hydro-skis.

McColm

Had an idea to kitbash the Boeing X-32 JSF with either a A-7 or TA-7C Corsair II.
Using the wings, twin fins and air intake off a 1/72 Italeri or Tamiya X-32 on a HobbyBoss A-7.
Could be renamed Corsair III.
I did see a photo of a F-16 with the X-32 air intake fitted to it.

NARSES2

Looking at some of these plans you begin to realise Methusalah had nothing on Wiffers  ;D

I thought I was bad with 3/4 on the go and 3/4 in the planning stage, but I'm a mere whippersnapper
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

McColm

Thanks to two fellow Whiffers using the wings off the XF-108 and SR-71. So many ideas and different scales to kitbash with.
A Mach3 seaplane seems plausible.

The Avalon Water Bombers were considering upgrading their fleet of Catalinas from the twin Wasp radials to Rolls-Royce Dart engines.
Heritage Aviation Models Limited do a range of resin 1/72 aircraft engines.
I was thinking on using turbofans/turbojets. A triple jet powered version would look great.

McColm

The flying houseboat idea appeals to me. Not a new Whiff and if you add dragon's wings to it takes on a whole new meaning. A kitbash made from spare parts.
