What do you plan to build in near future?

First two new year projects will be floatplanes, one a 1/72-1/48 conversion.

Two Do335s in the pipeline along with finishing a P-39 and an A-10.

Something with a DH Hornet, possibly as the high altitude escort fighter.

Three or four other things being planned, and an old S-2 Tracker that needs resurrecting.

I'd like to do a sort of  "Then and Now" using 1/24 or 1/25 plastic model car kits. Inspiration comes from the Ford Shelby GT350. As the badge first appeared back in 1965 on the 306bhp V8 and the new one has a 5.2 litre with over 500bhp, also a V8 with a six speed manual gear box. With most of the American Muscle cars covered and the Japanese models sorted. Just leaves the Europeans, most will be Whiffed as some are out of production or there wasn't a motorsports version.

Cool idea. I've always had a plan similar to that for GP bikes. 2 builds : one for the bike they rode to win the Championship, and then the Championship bike. A lot of riders wear the number '1' for the Championship year, so it would just be 'shelf cool' eh ?!

Wow, there's plenty of Whiffing ideas in the Robert  E. Bradley- Convair Advanced Designs , Secret Projects from San Diego 1923-1962.
I daresay that my builds for next year and beyond will be based on these seaplanes and bomber programs. The cutaway and lined drawings give a lot of detail.
Some look as though the standard kit could be kitbashed on a budget.

i actually made a start on a verthog i hope to get back on it in the new year some time

AC-121 Connie Gunship, similar layout to the AC-47 Spooky. Guns at the front and rear, remote control turrets from the B-29/B-50 kits.
The Airfix Super G, as it has square/rectangle windows ideal for mini-guns or heavy guns to poke through.

There actually was a WWII project to build a bomber based on the (regular) Constellation. It actually got the designation B30 but was never seriously taken any further then the preliminary studies mostly because it would never be ad good as the 'pure' bomber B29 already much further in development. Still... It would have turrets...

Anigrand do a resin model of the XB-30 in 1/144 scale, a Whiffer has built their own variant of the B-30.
I'd like to build a kitbash 1/72 Starliner and Super Star Constellation, civvie and military versions. Engines would be different to the Constellation and the undercarriage legs lower.
I might try and flip the fuselage over so the wings are shoulder mounted, by cutting the fuselage at the tail and behind the cockpit. Got a magazine with cut-away drawings and good construction photos on the assembly line.

I've suddenly gotten this crazy idea to do a ZELL F-106 or with an upgrade on my F-106 kitbash and folding wings  :banghead:

I didn't know that airline companies had experimented with inflight refueling during the 1930's-1940's.   BOAC and PAN AM used flying boats as tankers as well as other aircraft. The Shorts Sunderland would make a good tanker aircraft.

Captain Canada

Lovely. I'd love to see both a zell and a naval 106 !!

When I had my stash, I contemplated using the wings from the Airfix Vulcan and kitbashing them onto the Monogram Rockwell B-1B Lancer. Adding extra windows along the fuselage of the B-1Bone. As this kit has so many imperfections before the construction using the instructions provided. The weapons wouldn't be used so the doors would be glued shut. Aftermarket products would be used to replace the jet exhaust pipes and metal undercarriage legs. Decals sourced.

Other wings such as the 1/144 Concorde could be used with the engines from the B-1B. Not too sure if the 1/72 wings are too long for the B-1B.

Having just finished the Henfield - No idea.
I was having a rummage today and nothing leapt out and shouted "make me first".
Maybe a chopper.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.
