What do you plan to build in near future?

Hmmmm.  I have in my stash an Academy Catalina and i'm waiting for a set of Resin C-130J engines to arrive.  Two of which will be grafted on to make a civilian TurboCat.  Not a flying RV specifically but i've been thinking of making some lounge room furniture to install under the blisters at the back.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

On the Thames there were at least 2 or 3 Vosper MTB hulls turned into house boats.  I always thought that was a waste.

Going down the querky route. Two Arado Ar232 four engine transport kits. Roll-on-Roll-off with the cockpit above the forward fuselage which would be the back end of the second kit without the cockpit sections. One set of wings and tail, replacement engines. Could keep the landing gear from the two kits.

When I had my stash, I did a dry run by using the wings from the Airfix BAe Nimrod on a 1/72 already built (spares/repairs) C-130H. This works, the wings also work on the C-160, Br.1150 Atlantic and Valiant.
However the Monogram 1/72 B-1B has lots of issues, so thinking outside the box. Why not use the wings and engines from the B-1 B and add them on a C-130. May have to stretch the fuselage depends on the kit.
There are resin conversion kits to stretch the fuselage, but I intend two buy two 1/72 C-130 kits possible C-130J or if I'm lucky C-130J-30. That means cutting up one to stretch the other. Could also use the B-1B T-tail. Plug would go behind the cockpit and after the wing. Strips of plastic card would help to strengthen the joints. Plastic rods at intervals inserted in the fuselage would strengthen the new wing as well.
Other parts from the B-1B, possible nose cone used.

I'm going to jump on the Luft '46 wagon for my 46th year on Dog's Green Earth.

AFAIK there's no 1/72 C-130J-30 kits available yet.

I looked for one about 18 months ago with no result so I bought one of the extender kits. The problem with them is they were mastered some time ago for the original Airfix kit, which is no longer made. The current Airfix C-130 is the same as the Italeri kit and the extensions don't fit, or you need a LOT of work to get them to look right. I still haven't managed it with mine despite loads of PSR work.  :banghead:
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Three of the same C-130J kits should be enough, C-130J-60.

Not quite, MTB 219 has been rescued after being condemned and her hull has now been rebuilt, to allow her to be restored to her original guise and be used on the water with the rest of their boats

Very cool. You want to talk waste ? See the Fairmile D that was built right here in Sarnia, served on the coast in WWII, turned into a tour boat for the Lake and the St. Clair river. Taken out of service and going to be retored. Until they found out how much work it was. Now languishing to dry rot and possibly already cut up.

The Fairchild T-46A Eaglet looks doable.

I like the one with it in front of an A10.  It looks so little.

That's 'cos it is!  ;D

It has something of the Miles Student about it, but then they were both meant for similar jobs.

After seeing Radish's 2009 Be-6 conversion I finally decided to tackle the one I have had on the agenda for VERY long. The sheer size and the problem of stowing the result somewhere made me refrain from this project - until now. Work has already started, messy, since I want to upgrade the VEB Plasticart kit in many areas, including an (simple) interior, new engines, armament and certainly the livery. Will probably start a WiP thread in the next days.
