Old Airfix or the newer AZ kit Chris ? The AZ kit is quite a nice build.
Its quite an old eastern  European  kit Chris,  full of badly fitting parts and fuselage panel lines that  are miles out. Lots of putty will be going in to it by the looks of it. I think I will look  for an AZ kit  though.

I've been mulling over some ideas on how to make a twin fuselage aircraft with swept wing look pleasing to the eye. I've got a basic plan and cobbled some bits together already, but I'll have to sort a lot of the details out first before I'm ready to show anything. And as usual, it's taken over the thinking from all my other projects that are on the go    :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Perhaps  forward swept  wings could  work Robert,  and a V shaped  winglet between  the fuselages?

Forward swept for the center I'm thinking  ---- think boomerang  ---  ;)

OK, ok, here's a sneak preview ---

That is looking  good Robert,  what will it's  job be  when done?

A long range interceptor, an advanced development of this Twin Fury I've got to finish.  I've got a thread on this but all the photos have disappeared in it because of the PB debacle.

The idea for the development aircraft is the radar got moved to the port fuselage along with the operator, the starboard fuselage will have a quartet of 20mm's in the upper nose, some missile bays along the sides for AIM-4, and each fuselage would retain the rp tray under the fuselages (I've used a pair of Airfix Sabre Dogs suitably modified  ;D ).

The canopy you see on it comes from a TF-86F conversion.

Marvellous,  a good evolution  to the twin mustang.  It would  make  a good night fighter  too.

My original plan was the Twin Fury to be a night fighter, a jet Twin Mustang. It developed into an All Weather Fighter as the dedicated night fighter role became obsolete by then.

My new twin will be called a Canadair CL-16 Kukri  (I played with the name Sabre Twoth for a while  ;D )

Near future includes several unfinished builds which I'd like to complete in time for the SAPMA Expo on the 12 - 13th October (at Immanuel College, 32 Morphett Road, Novar Gardens SA ;)).

These include a BDRM-2, a LAV-150 with TOW launcher turret & my navalised Beaufighter torpedo-bomber.

I've taken a week off prior to the show to have some hope, but I'm pretty sure SWMBO will find something else to fill my days. :-\

Right, I was only aware of the old Airfix kit and the AZ one, but looking at Scalemates I see there have been a couple of others.

Anyway if you do look at the AZ kit one of the boxing's is an in-service wif boxing so saves you the hassel of sorting markings out

It's  a very  crude kit Chris,  it could  almost be a different aircraft.  I am  thinking of  changing the  landing gear  as it is very basic,  and the bang seat  looks like a dodgy  dining room chair.  I have  found a  seat,  I  just  n3ed a pair of useable  rear landing gear as I have  found some  wheels and  possibly a  front  landing gear.  If I  get an AZ kit, I  dare say that it will be  a lot  different.

Looking forward to it mate. I've always had a "thing" for the SR.53 ever since I made the original Airfix kit back in the 60's. I think all us kids thought it was the RAF's next big thing (well little thing but you know what I mean  ;D)

The one I have is a MPC kit, it has a bunch of 'what-if' decals plus the standard ones. IIRC, the what-if is painted all bright red --

Big Book says quite a few other companies re-boxed it, Astro, Coopexim, Jachowicz, Prodimex, Remi and Ursus.

When I go home,  I will have a look at the  box and  instructions  to see where it's  from,  there is no English writing on it.
