Slight mods to and repainting of a couple of Nerf Mavericks for a friend.
One Steampunk Brass, Tubes and Cylinders, the other Silver and Black Dredd-style.

Now I just need more time...

Might the air restrictors have "fallen out".   ;D

Sadly, no - these will merely be prop versions, having been previously gutted. Still, they're for Cosplay, not shooty parties.
(I'm not very capable when it comes to converting or even reassembling-so-they-still-work...)

Spey_Phantom

i have a few WHIF's on the horizon, both military aircraft and ground vehicles.
however, lately i found out i have a nack for Civilian aircraft and civil converted military aircraft.

i am planning a number of Bomber-to-passenger aircraft conversions in the near future.
one im currently researching is a passenger/staff transport version of the Junkers Ju88, a passenger conversion of a Vickers Wellington,...
Zenrat's Sky Cab skyraider conversion has inspired me to do the same, i have a revell/matchbox 1/72 A-1E Skyraider in the stash and had no idea what to do with it
on the bench:

-all kinds of things.

CV-990 Spantax real world

Regularly saw these on the approach to Manchester as a kid.  Slick, fast and elegant.  Up there with Concorde and 70-Series DC-8s as the prettiest jetliners.

I was lucky enough to fly to Majorca in a Spantax Coronado in October '78. That must have been right at the end of their service I reckon as the return flight was aboard a DC9-30.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards
Kit

Just had an idea for the Armstrong Whitworth Whitley Mk.V/Mk.VII bomber to turn it into an airliner. BOAC used them as freighters so an airliner version wouldn't be out of place.

The BOAC ones also carried some passengers, although I'm not certain how comfortable it would have been ? Might just be a little cramped for regular passengers ?

I have  three resin kits  sat waiting to be built,  all to be in my current  build theme,  but I keep  chickening out with them.  Its the preparation and  taking the parts off their  sprues that  make  me hide behind the couch.  ;D ;D Two are Olimp  kits one  a CMR kit, and I  haven't  heard any  horror stories about them, so maybe  after finishing the  sr.53 Delta 2 and  F-105 , I will give one a go.

Just remember Chris, a bottle of de-bonder is essential   ;)

I have a 1/72 Supermodel of the Blohm und Voss BV-138. I was thinking of using blanking covers for all the gun turrets,  possible private flying boat.

My experience of Olimp is that they are great kits. Go together as well as injection plastic ones and better then some. Only slight downside is that they can be very detailed which means a lot of small fiddly parts. CMR ? Depends how old it is. The more recent ones (last 10 years or so) are quite possibly an ideal introduction to resin. The early ones can be quite basic, but are mostly o.k. Depends which one you have,

Very good, but a couple of points to note.

1- The "blob" of glue (that's a technical term) is probably slightly to large to use directly. I put it on to a suitable pallet, a milk bottle top in my case, and then use a needle to apply.

2. It dries quickly, so one, maybe two "blobs" at a time.

Hope this encourages you to enter the wonderful world of resin

Thankyou for your words of wisdom and encouragement  Chris,  much appreciated.  I  remembered that I have  two other planet models  aircraft too and 4 models in miniature  armoured vehicles in 1/72nd scale  stashed away,  hopefully to be built soon. Deciding what to do is my next hurdle,  Boulton Paul P111/110 or my Bristol Type 188. :banghead:

If the 188 is one of your Olimp kits then it's a beauty, but probably not an ideal choice for a first time resin kit. It's very detailed and quite delicate. Sounds a daft word to use for a kit, but it's the best one I can think of. Get something else under your belt first would be my advice.

Planet can be good first timers as well

Thankyou Chris,  my fingers  can be my worst enemy  as I have lost feeling in them and some  movement,  but I  need to keep at it.

Would an UCAV work for a Carrier On Board delivery a/c?

I am particularly thinking of a cargo and supplies only modification of the X-47 UCAV 1/72 kit you can get and I have two of.
