What do you plan to build in near future?

Would an UCAV work for a Carrier On Board delivery a/c?

I am particularly thinking of a cargo and supplies only modification of the X-47 UCAV 1/72 kit you can get and I have two of.

Why not?

Except that the X-47 is a tad lacking in volume for the COD mission. Perhaps upgrade it to the later X-47B with the double-bubble fuselage?  ;) ;) ;D ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

I swear I've seen footage of something like that being trialled ? May have just been a "standard" UCAV, but there's no reason why it wouldn't work at all.

With the release of the new Revell Avro Shackleton MR.3,  I feel that the time is right for the Avro Shackleton AEW.2 phase 2 with a pair of Viper engines added to the outer engines.
I can now build the whole range starting with the MR.1, although I did check out the Alleycat website and couldn't find the MR.1 conversion set for the donor Airfix Avro Shackleton MR.2.
Found the page that I was looking for.
The 1/72 Convair Tradewind R3Y-2 in vacform,  a bargain for £40. The instructions are a bit vague with no diagrams on how to build it,  just line drawings. Got a copy of 'Convair Advanced Designs 1923 -1962 Secret Projects from San Diego ' which has four pages of information and black & white photos.  There's mention of a "Tactical Version R3Y " and a later study in 1957 of an Assault Transport Seaplane.
Which brings me to a kitbash using the Revell Blohm and Voss BV-222 with the Mach2 Martin SeaMaster wings & T-tail. The engines would be mounted above the wings and landing gear added.

Thanks to AndrewF's profiles and a quick perusal of my copy of British Pacific Fleet to check on roundel placement I've an inkling to return to one of my first loves - alternative BPF aircraft

Also got me thinking of RAAF and RNZAF in the SW Pacific as well,

That XF5U-1 in sky and EDSG has me dragging my Pegasus Pancake out of The Loft..............

1/72 RAAF  Boeing 707 is back on the radar. I got everything together for it last year but right about then the busy time of year started for me so stashed it all. I figure if I can get to it within the next couple weeks I'll make a go of it. Told myself I'm not allowed to start another "airliner" until I finish at least 2 out of the three I have going now so I guess this means I just gave myself a two week deadline.  ;D

My thoughts now turn to the next GB, though. It'll be fun to pick out a couple builds for that.

This year I will finish the Sea Witch, start the Sky Pirates airship and might even get motivated to build the interior of my scratchbuilt 1/25 Winnebago.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

I've never even SEEN a Hasegawa Pancake kit. :(

Have you seen the price of them on eBay? The cheapest is £42!

Originally tooled by Hobby Spot ? Whoever they are/were ?

It's a bit more work then a standard Hasegawa kit but it builds o.k.

I started the one I have but it's the usual story, it got packed away for the house move and it's still pack away 13 years later --   :banghead:

Going back to a previous idea of converting the EE Lightning into a V/STOL aircraft similar to the Yak-36, but including the rear jet pipes.
I could use a pair of 'spare and repair ' Revell/Matchbox HP Victors with the Blohm and Voss BV-222A and the Mach2 Martin SeaMaster.
I still intend to repaint the 00 gauge 'Mildland Blue Pullman ' set, well it's a power car, dummy power car and two carriages in the cream and brown scheme as used on a few stream lined railcars by GWR.

Update,  I have used the wings from a Revell/Matchbox on the Mach2 Martin SeaMaster and also the old Airfix Avro Vulcan wings on the SeaMaster. I'm experimenting with a suitable landing gear for both builds.
My intention was to fit a 1/72 Boeing B-52G with the  wings from the Monogram Convair B-36 , this hasn't gone to plan. However the wings from the AMT/ERTL YB-49 do fit the fuselage of the B-36 and so does the Roden  An-12 cockpit section (it's close but not an exact fit). I've been searching for a broken  1/72 B-36 or buy another secondhand kit and go for a stretch version either side of the wings.
I still think that I can build the YB-60.
A four engined Wellington transport version another idea of mine.
As for the Hogwarts Express,  I'm thinking of a continuous oval with an elevated siding which leads to the castle halt and a castle made from card with helicopter landing pads nearby. So it's a Castle on the top with the track underneath it  . If this doesn't work out,  then it's plan B. An underground station with the castle above,  stretched length ways along a wall. With Kings Cross Station at the other end. I could add lighting to the carriages,  something in 00 gauge or 4mm scale.

More V bombers, specifically Vulcans but another Victor salvage job.
