What do you plan to build in near future?

The Revell 1/144 Lockheed  Sea Shadow.  I have always thought that this should of been capable of carrying a helicopter or Harrier on it's roof.
Either for resupply or Covert operations.
Another started build is the 1/72 Mach2 Martin WB-57F,  which now has the resin E.17 nose and a pair of 1/48 T33 turbofaned engines. Something has gone wrong in the alignment of the tandem seats,  they are leaning to the right. Although I can cover the glazed cockpit canopy with masking tape to resemble a sunshade and add a bit of weight.

Seems logical to me  to have the USNavy flying the Shorts Sunderland during WWII and through the post war years until the Neptune entered service.  I have a Italeri Mk1 in the stash and I was interested in the Sandringham conversion. There was a resin conversion set but it is very difficult to obtain.  I do have the vacform Short S.21 Maia in the stash,  so I could use that as a template.
What  if the Chinese had bought the BAe Nimrod AEW.3,  the prices for the Airfix kit are going through the roof,  although I do have a couple of vacform kits in the stash  of the HS/BAe Nimrod MR.1/MR.2,  the Eeryie AEW platform could work.
A lot of my current started builds will need to be recycled to make way for some extra space,  the aim is reclaim my writing desk and use this as a work station rather than having a tray on my lap.

I think you'll find that the Maia is quite a bit wider than the Sunderland/Sandringham. It has wide flares at the bottom of the hull to increase the volume and the buoyancy.

Planned builds for 2021-2024 include;
V/STOL Northrop hybrid B-35 flying wing with 6 or eight  Rolls-Royce Pegasus engines (kitbashed Harriers) fitted under the wings,  stabilizers at the wingtips.
A kitbash with the Heller Boeing E-3A/C AWACS and vacform Vickers VC10.
BAe 146 AEW
Revell 1/72 Airbus A400M Sea Atlas/Sea Grizzly MPA based on the Lockheed Martin SC-130J.
Kitbash using the Airfix Tornado F.3 and the wings from the Heller Mirage IVP with the possibility of three floats,  the idea comes from the Convair Sea Dart.
1/72 Blackburn Beverly what happened next,  kitbash using the Revell Airbus A400M parts. Well I know that the wing fits and the landing gear does as well. I might as well use the interior fittings but change the engines to CFM turbofans as I want to use the turboprops on the Revell Breguet Br1150 Atlantic.
I'll have another crack at building the Avro Lincoln Mk.31.
I've seen the new electric Chinese London Taxi and thought that would make a great campervan,  there must be a scale model of it somewhere.
Been following Hubnut on YouTube and the Australian Leyland cars that he drove has given me plenty of ideas. So I will be buying Airfix and Heller car kits to modify.
A Hogwarts based train layout in 00 gauge that fits under the bed,  by using left and right sidings instead of curves for the returning loop. Smaller carriages will be used. My version of Diagon Alley and Dove Town. Hogwarts Castle will have an underground platform halt. I will be experimenting with lighting in the buildings and on the rolling stock.
Triang Midland Blue Pullman with different liveries.
More vacform models to be built,  well finished would be better  :banghead:

I've got a crazy idea for fitting long glider style wings on an F-5F two seater for a poor man's U-2. Probably a longer snout full of sensors. Maybe lengthen the fuselage too. Time will tell.

I've been meaning to do this for 10 years or more, and 2021 sounds the right year to do it.  I have in the stash two Dapol 00 gauge Battle of Britain class pacific locomotives.  They will (I hope) by the end of the year become a single Garrett 4-6-2--2-6-4 of the LMS.   I hope to de-Bulleid the BoB locos and Stanierfy them.  With any luck, the running gear will take no more than usual care, but the boiler and other gubbins  may be more "entertaining".     Photos IF I can persuade my camera to talk to any other electronic equipment.

Ooer, that sounds a big job.  :-\

You'll have to scratch the boilers as the BoB kit doesn't have one at all, just the air smoothed casing. But won't it end up looking like a 'normal' LMS 2-6-6-2 Garrett? If any Garrett can be described as normal of course.

In passing, I still have an unbuilt Kitmaster Garret, and by a fluke I was looking t it just before reading your post.

I have  just started a long term project  that   have  spoken about here.  The Avro  Kittleton, which I  still need more parts for is going to be a long build  and could  change  a lot over its gestation.  I  have  already  hit 2 snags, but hopefully I  have sorted one out. I can't  elongate the wings how I wanted  so the 3rd pair of  engines  are going to be a problem.  Be reet.

Stanier job with boxpok wheels? Ooh er!

Love the sound of the F-5F--U-2 2!

Been thinking of similar with an old Airfix Lightning F3.  Have designed the wing, have the bits.

Sounds great to me! That Lightning might pull the wings off!

In 2021 I hope to finish the Sea Witch.
Other than that I have no firm plans for anything major although I should build more cars.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

I just can't believe that this topic I created 14 years ago ( :o :o :o ) is still very active !! ...

And I can't believe either that I stopped modelling for a decade now ! Since a couple of week, I'm back in business and I'm currently finishing the OA-37F Dragonlady I mentioned in the very first post of this topic! Can't wait to show you the result !

It's one of the few models that survived the numerous moving from home to home in the past 11 years. But I have new ideas in mind that I really care:

-AV-8B Harrier II+ in French Navy colors
-OV-10 Bronco on floats, very probably in French navy colors, based in the island of Mayotte (where I spend a lot of time in the past decade, keeping me out of modeling)
-RAH-66 in USMC markings
-Sea Harrier and F-14D Tomcat in JASDF colors
-Mitsubishi F-2 in Belgian or Dutch marking as F-16E Agile Falcon
...

That will probably bring me to 2040-2050 haha !

Centerline float with outriggers or twin floats?

I was thinking of twin float, similar to the few historical pics I saw.
The idea is to have an aircraft able to operate both from land and sea.
Maybe with retractable landing gears in the floats like civilian Twin Otter ?
Whatever, it's important to keep the hard points free for bombs (and maybe even torpedoes)
