In paralel with its nuclear program IRIAF launched a program to develop a medium range bomber. So, IAMI (Iranian Aircraft Manufacturing Industrial Co) engineers joint Chinese engineers from Chengdu to build the design team. Their approach consists in up scaling Chinese J-7 (MiG-21) by 2:1 to get the main airframe. As a part of engine program, some GE J85, from Iranian F-5Es, were sent to China in order to obtain copies. Ten of these engines are podded under wings.

Here we can see IAMI B-1 along with Iranian F-4E and Saudi Tornado, carrying an air to surface cruise misile in mock form, during joint exercises.

The dark camo scheme is designed for low flight attack. Its wide fuselage allows a lot of fuel tankage. The big low pressure tyres permits to operate from bad runways.

King Arthur: Can we come up and have a look?
French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.
