Saw this in an Oil and Gas mag at work.....check out the Hover Ilsand ! I think any one of these would be great for launching Harriers or Helos.

Somewhere online I've seen a pic of a 50's fighter (Voodoo maybe?) launching off something like that in a USAF test. The hoversled had a big parachute on teh back of it to slow it down...
