Adlar Tag Syndrome

Back in 1981 an event took place in the Pacific Ocean, south west of Hawaii. The U.S.S. Nimitz was involved in 'a bubble' in the time/space consortium, thus sending the ship back in time to Dec. 6th 1941.
All knowledge of this event was locked away, but a couple of years later, discussed 'it' with their closest friend, the United Kingdom.
On discussing 'the' event, a White Paper and video was shown, along with actual Luftwaffe still photos of an event that took place in August 1940 over southern England
The 'event' was referred to as "The Adlar Tag Syndrome", and this is a brief account of the facts. It appeared that three Harrier GR5's on live weapons training somehow caught in the Time/Space Continium, as did the Nimitz. The day they passed through the 'time' barrier was 15th August 1940, over the south east of the English coast.
First noticing large blips on their Radar, from the French coast, to England. With no outside communications they decided to investigate. Climbing, the Harriers spotted a gaggle of Dornier 17's, and knew something was wrong, as then, (1975) there were none in flying condition anywhere in the world, let alone, in a museum.
To cut a long story short, Red 2 was attacked by a Me-109, and this chap was using live amo! Trying to evade the enemy, without changing history was a 'big ask', and finally, Red Leader gave the command to open fire, on the targets with the 'crosses', only!
JG 26 was devistated that day, loosing all but two 109's. The final tally included, 3 He-111's, 4 Do-17's and a badly damaged Ju-88. What RAF pilots saw the action, couldn't explain the aircraft, only that they had 'B' type roundals on the wings.

The photo seen here was taken from a Do-17, from KG 76

The GR5s are there because they travelled back in time to 1975!

Could send Su-27's to the eastern fron, or into brief war with Japan near the end of '45.

Lana and I just so happened to be visiting Blenheim when the local warbirds association had their film night. The film? The Final Countdown! It's always funny to watch any film with those ex-TTT "Zeroes" in the company of aviation enthusiasts. The laughs alone!

I'd love to see it remade with some slight diffs..........perhaps a slightly more convincing "storm" effect? Maybe Mike Douglas could play the Captain and Chuck Sheen the defence contractor?  :P  B)
