Here's some pics of my what-if Flak Pershing DML M26A1 Pershing Accurate Armour krupp prototype of the twin 5.5cm flak turret for the Panther Not sure if I'll do an invasion of Japan scenario or W.W.III 1949

Yeah,I know the load is late. But the voices keep telling me to pull over and clean the guns.

That is one mean look piece of machinery. I'm very intrigued. Looking forward to more progress. B)

nice looking thing but...please...please pretty pretty please change the commanders cupola to an us style...
it looks so apparently and smells to much german...  ;)
but I like the idea...two 40mm bofors guns would look nice too...
I would reshape the rear portion of the turret  to a casted type...
such ideas cant look to apparently to the oryginal parts...
the idea is very very interesting but dont oversimplify the overall impression which shows great promise for a big success!
best regards

by the way...I see the first time how big this turret was in reality!!! wow....
either the turret was very big or....the panther...or...the pershing was small  <_<

It's a resin turret The commander's cupola is molded on I may try to remove it and put on a U.S. version The rear of the turret is basically where the crew entered and exited It has two large doors molded on

Steve,

Doesn't necessarily have to be "superior German technology."

Instead, it could be a nice combination of already available German turrets, idle German post-war industrial capacity, good idea for putting West German workers back to work, and a quick fix to a tracked ADA need.  A win/win for all.

The US forces in Europe get a highly mobile and lethal ADA capability on the quicktime, cost is minimized through the use of existing German components and design, the German factories are put back into use, and the German workers get to do something productive for the Allies.

There!  One more poke in Stalin's eye courtesy of the West!

I stil like the idea....hmhmm...
some tanks in my stash....hmhmmmm <_<

Of course that wouldn't end up like the Sgt York now would it.... too big a turret on a tank chassis that can't keep up with the rest of the armoured units, let alone hack down the bad boys......????

If it were to be armed with a larger caliber weapon such as the 76mm Otomatic from Oto-Melara, I am sure it would be able to cope with modern air threats and lightly armored vehicles...

It is unfortinate that the original Goodyear design for the M247 was based on the 40mm Bofors cannon.  If they had gone with something in a larger caliber such as the 76mm Otomatic, it might have had a different outcome.  Of course placing the turret on a vehicle that could keep up with the rest of the task force would also be a good idea.

mmm missed this one.

As a part time armour fan I look forward to this one being completed.

Nice plausible concept convincing enough to dupe any JMN.
