Superb all the way around, from the jet to the dio/platform...I would say you have made a real masterpiece with this build.  Seeing builds like this one does make me wish we had a larger gallery area for permanent pics, well done Leigh.

Leigh, out of respect for your comments below which you noted on the "Dilemma" thread, I've deleted my earlier posts of somewhat sycophantic praise.

I don't care if I do sound like a sicophant. That is absolutely beautiful. Simple as that.

Bloody hell Leigh that's a stunner - makes you realise how big the thing was when you see her compared to the tow vehicle

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I have to agree with Chris...who knew the beast was so big ?

Awesome job, Leigh. I love the whole thing, from the dio base ( it even looks wet ! ) to the wonderfully weathered truck. The paint scheme on the bird itself is genious ! Just looks so right......I'd love to see a photo from directly atop of the plane ? Please ?

Great job, buddy !

1)  That looks awesome.  Great paint scheme, nicely done base, lovely tractor, making for a pleasing ensemble

2) Who knew it was so big?  :o   You sure you've not mixed a 1/48 plane with a 1/72 tractor?  ;)

3)  Any chance of an overhead shot, to really admire the paint scheme?

Boy howdy, that turned out well!  The beaching cart is a really nice touch.  I'm still afraid of masking, but I'm pretty inspired by this one!

I just found this build now that I'm preparing to face my own Phoenix build, and what can I say...WOW Leigh!

Nice to see such a high standard set for this GB.  The rest of us have our work cut out.  Thanks for the inspiration    .

Oh, and BTW, that is the BEST scheme I've ever seen on a model.  Ever.
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Whoa!  Dangit, how did I miss the finale of this one? It looks great Leigh, I am so not believing this is a vac kit. If I hadn't seen the progress shots I wouldn't believe a vac could look this good.

I still don't think I would have the patience to follow through on one so this is even more amazing to me. I really like the way you have chosen to display it as well.

I know what you mean by the camera hiding flaws, sometimes a blessing ;)   Unfortunately it also tends to show some that you don't notice in person too  :dum:

Your famous Leigh!  Spotted your SR1A in SAMI, in a feature on the US Nationals competetition entries.  Good work, looks like you touched up the finish for the competition?

See Scale Aviation Modeller International, Volume 13 Issue 10 October 2007, page 966.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Captain Canada

Thanks for the tip, Mossie ! I'll have to check out the book stores in the mall and see if they got 'er...than I'll post the mag down to Leigh in Never Neverland ( or wherever he is thesedays..... :( ), get him to sign it, and then sell it on ebay for big bucks !
