Deino, Elmayerle and others, its glorious day! this afternoon I started the Mega Mirage.
A MiG-25 is used as basis, with wings and canopy from a Mirage IV.
The MiG-25 has been totally butchered this afternoon.
Main problem is the fuselage of the MiG is build around monsters of engines, much bigger than the M53s.
Only solution : narrowing the fuselage (and, as a consequence, the air intakes!!). Work has started today... probably the most difficult build I ever atempted (I would have  never been able to atempt that just 6 months ago, I progress every day thanks to this forum :) ^_^  )

Sadly Stephanie kept the digital camera (but she arrives friday   )
Hmm I have decal from the Mirage IV itself (I plan to build something cool with the Mirage remains :) )
Pictures ASAP !!!!
King Arthur: Can we come up and have a look?
French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.

More work done this afternoon. Really the most difficult build I ever atempted...never sanded so much!!

Tip from an old, married man - make sure she doesn't get the impression you are more pleased to see her camera than her :)

Good one! I ave to recognize my sentence was a bit ambiguous...  I grafted  Mirage IV's wings this evening. Also cut some plastic on one of the two fins of the
MiG-25 to make the tail of the Mirage.

That's the problem.

It was a draft project only (among many others at Dassault and others French firms according to Le Fana de l'aviation of this month -they published the letter I send them  B) ).
The AdA never planned having mach 3 fighters - way too expensive-
In 1969 (year when the project was published in Aviation Magazine) main project was the VG Mirage G8. Later it was the ACF (mach 2.5) and 4000. All these heavy multirole fighters were cancelled by lack of funds...

We can just try to guess the dimensions comparing it to a Mig-25/F-15 / 4000. with two M53 engines, you need a lot of fuel (even more if you fly at mach 3 or more) so the plane would have been 20 meters (or more) long. Starting from that, and with a 60 degree delta span was probably circa 12-14 meters...

I need to post photos of this model :)

Ok, I've got a big problem guys...
all the users of Photobucket knows that there's a small pic in the gallery. If you click on the small pic, you obtain the full size picture.
Both pictures have different sizes and E-adress... you copy this adress and put it in IMG.
Well, I can post the small picture (hence the Mega Mirage pic above) but when I try to put the adress of the big picture, I have a message saying "sorry, dynamic links are not allowed here"
so well I can just post small size pictures of my models  <_<
