Hi I'm anstiss I'm 11,my dad's Leigh I'm building a Yak 3. It's going to be a "what if" bacause i'm going to paint it a funky scheme. I've done the cockpit im doing all the work and dad's just showing me how. He showed me how to do a sludge wash and dry brush so my cockpit looks really neat. I made seatbalts and everything. My dad has the coolest models ever. I'm on my way.
Here's a picture of my cool cockpit...........

Here's another picture of my cockpit..
When I'm done It's going to be blue, white, and grey camo.

OK Leigh, stop passing yourself off as your daughter.  We're impressed enough with your work without you trying to make us think an 11 year old did that...

...because that would mean we all just need to take up knitting.  :o

Superb cockpit!

So I got that going for me...which is nice....

This really is Anstiss' work, she's always had a talent for the artistic in fact we have a picture she painted when she was seven hanging in our living room, not because of obligation but because it's that bloody good. She has done all the work on her Yak herself, agreed it's the Eduard 1/48 kit which is one of the nicest engineered kits i've ever seen, practically snaps together with no need for putty.

you guys want a modeling challenge, sit at the bench with yer kid and try to not take over what they are doing :( This has been the hardest build I've never done.

I invite all and any criticism, except about Eric The Dog, it's not his fault he's stupid

I am absolutely amazed Anstiss! Very good work. You are making a lot of grown men cry right now because you can do at 11 what it has taken most of us(me) MANY years to learn how to do. Keep up the good work!! B)

Wow Anstiss that is wonderful, amazing work! I wish I had the skill and patience to do cockpit detailing as well as you! It seems you've definately inherited some of your dad's talent and show lots of your own to boot! Welcome to the asylum! The rest of us are jealously looking forward to more on this great project!

I hope I didn't coma across as doubting that this great model was Anstiss' work!!

That was just my way of voicing my awe at the skill level on display.  But then again look at what the teacher produces, and it's easy to see where she gets it!
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Wow....great work so far ! That cockpit is awesome ! Maybe your Dad can come up here and teach me a few things as well, eh !?!  You're one lucky kid, having a father like Leigh !

Ask your Dad if he you can take a photo of the painting he was talking about....I'd like to see that.

Cheers !

Right. I've been building models since age 8 (26 years by God!) and I still can't do a cockpit like that.

Fantastic work, Anstiss! And I love the TB models...

Poor planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part...

More into Flight Sim reskinning these days, but still what-iffing... Leading Edge 3D

May a 11 year old girl become the teacher for some of us? As far as I am concerned, I have much progress to make to reach such level of skills... Congratulations, Miss Anstiss... :)
