Rafael my freind, i see a revell gripen in your stash! You know, austrian or swiss markings would be cool on a gripen

I also see a comanche, and israel is screaming for comanche!

Rafael

Hey, 777 that's a first issue gripen (i was told at the time). It is collecting dust in the abandoned corner. Here is a close up....dust included.

Have you noticed in my photos that almost none of my model has decals on them? perhaps it is time to start learning to apply decals properly

and who said comanche?, i was toying with this tiny carboard comanchito

upnorth

QuoteDo you have mind-reading powers upnorth?
That was EXACTLY what i was thinking last night, i'm looking for an old Rafale fuel pod (The one whith the bulging front) and wanted to try my hand at adapting that shape (backwards so the carriages are farther back, displacing the CG) and try to transplant an scratchbuilt 2 wheel leg.

Moving The Third crew member forward? um, interesting!! that way i could put the antenna arrays i want on top

And the E-1 arrangement is a superb idea!!!. Liike this, more or less....

Thanks a lot, starting to prototype a shape in cardboard before cutting any plastic.
Me with mind reading powers? hmmmm.....

I was thinking about the E-1 arrangement as I think it would be quite easy to do it just as it was done with the Tracker. That is to cut the main vertical tail down to use it as a rear support and put end plate style stabilizers on instead.

I think if you did that, and move the third crew member forward, you'd have plenty of clearance and mounding options for the Erikson style antenna that the Swedes put on their Metro IIIs. As I think about it now, I don't think the E-1 style antenna would work so well on an aircraft that didn't have high mounted wings to put supports on for it as the Tracker did.

Kind of like the world's "Ultimate T-Tail"

I like it (surprise, surprise!).

That's an interesting and eclectic plastic stash you've got there, Rafa.

So, I make you this challenge:

You build one of your plastic kits of your choice (including decals, which your new friends here will help to explain) and, during that same timeframe, I'll build my first ever cardboard kit of my choice.

You "on" for this?   ^_^

Ok, instructions for decals:
Cut decal from sheet.
Put decal in clean water.
Every now and then put down a finger to see if decal will move just a little on the sheet.
When decal can slide around the paper, lift the paper onto where the decal is to be placed.
Move te paper out, while keeping the decal where it is.
Use a tissue to dry out water.

Use Future or another clear gloss coat to ensure your decals don't "silver" or frost up as they will on a matte painted surface.

So lets go back to the gannet... the installation of your AEW radome scream
"An-71 Madcap". *
the Soviets had made an AEW variant of their STOL cargo with an AEW radome on the tail... for their carriers.
Three were build but cancelled in favor of the Yak-44 (soviet clone of the Hawkeye).

But you could also mount a cigar-shaped AEW radome on top of the tail!

Keep on resurecting your old models! Look, I registered here last February and since then, I retrofited around 20 of my old models (with whatif paint shemes or heavy modifications... or changed into something else).
King Arthur: Can we come up and have a look?
French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.

Rafael

Ok. Hola, Archibald, mon amí. Howling Mouse and 777 thanks for the quick lesson, i'll try. Meanwhile, i would like to show you the loctite-fumes-induced design of today. It's still a little crude., but shows a different approach. And about movin the cockpit, Old Carlitos, the third crewman, still refuses... strongly, and filed a complaint to the CAG....

Howling Mouse, I think you'll find card models exquisitely made and far more complicated than what i have built, try your hand on them........I'm game!!!
