Mirage 1/400 U-boats

Before the days of this website, the idea of converting one of these little jobbers into a flying boat passed through my mind.    Design is still preliminary but the base inspiration is the Savoia S.55.

Conning towers shaved off.
Undersides reshaped
Sides smoothed.
All submersible capacity removed.

No spats but definately two ''fuselages''.


If Hayao Miyazaki can turn a U-boat into a flapping-winged flying battleship, some of us ought to be able to get another airborne somehow.

During the seventies , the Japanese did various SF model kits , some of them being flying subs .

Naturally you coud just add delta wings to them and have Mirage subs....
