Loved the universe, hated the encounter group, er, "squad" the show was centered around.  I always thought I was watching a group session gone horribly, horribly wrong when the "pretty people" squad was on screen.

That "universe" had a lot of potential, though.

Also loved the show ; plus the particular squad concept since these latter-day Marines resemble old-school Dragoons in being able to shift from mounted/flight to dismounted/ground operations depending on the mission. Execution thereof would've been better with more "flying sergeants" and such written into the cast to keep at least a pseudo-realistic officer/enlisted ratio, though...

I remember always thinking how ironic it was - a universe where Earth has space fighters but the RAAF still flys Hornets!

The one thing I thought was strange was that the USMC had their SA-43 Hammerheads with RAF style markings on the wings (the backwards on one wing and forward on the other wing thing when seen from above).   B)
