Hi all

Thanks to the generosity of RotorheadTX, I now have several models after which I have sought for many many years.

Including FROG's Gloster E.28/39. Hehehehehe.

The RAF specified the E.28/39 had to have provision for 4 Browning .303s, which I took to mean it could be a fighter. Thus I thought, like all good RAF fighters in WW2, it could conceivably have 20mm Hispano cannon too! Hence the blisters seen above.

I added a bit more exhaust with a bit from, well, I'm not entirely sure...but it works! I also added underwing fuel tanks (from RoG's Hurricane) as I thought it would need considerably more gas than factory-standard interior tanks would allow. Thus modified, she has become the in-service Gloster Cavalier!

I'm planning an elaborate backstory for this one, and I really really REALLY love how she looks! I've decided (with help from Shasper) that she will be ex-North Africa campaign, post-D-Day, support ground forces in the ground attack role.

Pics and the backstory to follow as they happen. I LOVE THIS PLANE!!!

Wow is that sweet! What are you thinking of for camo and markings? SEA camo? Kiwi roundels? Have you considered adding spats?

I can't wait to see more!

Nice! Looking forward to seeing this finished.

You may want to bore out that exhaust a bit. The tube wall looks rather thick. Tip: use a brass tube, or (even better) a drinking straw to get a realistic jet pipe.

Last year I visited the Science Museum in London, where the surviving E.28/39 is displayed. It's cool that the aircraft still exists and is on display, but it was so dark in that hall I could hardly make out the details.  <_<

Very interesting! GB first operational jet by Zac... now he could fight He-280s in late 1942...
King Arthur: Can we come up and have a look?
French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.
