AMAZING Jag there Nick. Brilliant build.

Gorgeous piece of work there.  I'll likely borrow some of your methods for the navalized Jaguar I'm working up.

Id say AD had been talking to thorvic (as thats were this tit bit and many others came from) lol ;)

great build all the same  :D , makes my sea jag look crap (same base kit as well) B)
I actually got my Shangri-la reference from Richard Beedall's excellent Future RN site here.  I think I've used the Shangri-la in a couple of my backstories.

Thanks for all the comments guys.  After looking at the pics I posted in a hurry last night I see that I need to refit the ECM pylon and get the nosegear to sit a little better, but overall I'm happy with the end result.

As for the mods I did-they really werent that extensive-I'm sure you can improve on them Evan-

1.  New nosegear made from the kit gear leg mated to the lower gear leg of an A-7 using steel tube as the oleo.  The wheels are the main wheels from an ancient Hase T-38.

2.  Main gear-the kit gear legs were modified by cutting off the trailing link sections and turning the gear legs around.  The main gear wheels are from an A-7.

3.  Arrestor hook-the thin center section of the kit hook was replaced with styrene rod.  The attache point and hook are from the kit.

4.  Radome-biggest mod-as detailed in the build thread it is the French nose from the Hase Jaguar kit with the laser designator removed and grafted back on further back on the nose as a LRMTS.  The resulting radome was sanded to shape with virtually no filler.

So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Well, I like  your approach to the nose, I'll 'most likely do it the same way.  For the main gear, I'm going to swap between a Mitsubishi F-1 and the Jaguar to get a more operationally flexible F-1 and a navalized Jaguar.  The nose gear I'll steal from an old, early, "F-4K" kit that doesn't have much else to recommend itself for.

A new group build: RN aircraft on an ex-Essex, like the one we did with the Soviet carrier.  B)

Must find angle-deck Essex in 1/700...

Then must find Jag in 1/700.   :D

Thanks, Nick!
