COMRADES!!!

Is GLORIOUS day in Soviet Union!!!

Because diligence of Comrade Engineer Ivan A. Smirnoff and efforts of workers from State Aircraft Factory No. 37, I present newest air weapon to defend Motherland's beautiful skies against imperialist aggression, the Fuchoi Fu-13.

What triumph of Soviet Socialist technology!

Look at very cutting-edge delta wing design, with shark-tooth leading edge!

Be much impressed by new air superiority camoflage sure to keep decadent western running dogs away in fear!

Should capitalist stooges dare invade skies of Great Workers' Paradise, two Stolichnaya wingtip rockets, two under-wing Omsk missiles and two 37 m.m. cannons will tear their inferior airplanes in pieces!

And what better for short-field operation than short aircraft? I ask you Comrades.

Join me in celebrating newest achievment of superior Peoples' engineering and mass-production over decadent west!

A case of Vodka and Order of Lenin to all heroes who make defender of Siberian skies!

ZA RODINA!!!

Comrade Brianovich da Basherski, V.V.S. Procurement Div.

Here's what I've been up to this past week, the 1/72 Fuchoi Fu-13 Fogger. The basis of this little build is the barrel of a dried-up Sharpie™ marker. There was a thread a few days ago about which kits you'd take to a deserted island. I was tempted to answer that I didn't need any kits, just my spares box, some old pens and sprue, decals, and my paint, glue and tools.

The fuse is from a Sharpie™ marker and the canopy was left over from a 1/72 Tempest kit. The underwing missiles were also from the Tempest and the wingtip rockets were from a 1/72 Mustang. The nose cone is a tip from a spare drop-tank, and the nose guns were scratched from bits of sprue and old landing gear struts. The exhaust nozzle was a left over part from some nameless kit which was a perfect fit on the back end of the fuse.

I have a confession to make. The tail and wings were one of the vertical stabilizers and the two horiz. stabs. from my Secret Santa kit. I don't think I've broken any rules as I haven't actually built my Secret Santa kit, but I thought I should mention this in the interests of full disclosure. My only other alternative was to scratch the wings and tail from plastic lids from coffee cans and sprue, but frankly, I was too lazy for that and wanted a nice, simple quick project. Here's a shot of the undersides that shows off all that menacing weaponry.

So, with that statement, you're basically saying "I'm the MacGuyver of Modelling!" mullet and all     Just look at it this way, though.  When you cease being MacGuyver, you'll have a nice career as Gen. Jack O'Neill (two L's), traveling from planet to planet via the Stargate...

What?

The entire model was bush-painted by hand using mostly Testor's acrylics Light Ghost Gray and Dark Gull Gray. I used Polly Scale Gunship Gray for the dark areas in the cockpit, intake and exhaust. I used Testor's White and Polly Scale Red on the missiles. The outside of the exhaust nozzle was painted with Model Masters Steel and Tamiya Gunmetal was used on the cannons. The decals were all from my vast assortment of spares.

King Arthur: Can we come up and have a look?
French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.

Runway ? ...

Funky  :)  How about either a point defence or, dare I suggest, "parasite" fighter role for it.

Awww, in't it cute!  Makes yo want to tickle it under the chin!   Good work BdB, I can imagine seeing that some years ago on grainy black & white pics.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

The Rat

The Motherland salutes you Comrade! Is glorious day, as western capitalist imperialist running dogs are wetting their pants in fear!
