Those who are member of the "secret projects" ring know that there is a new baner with the 3D rendering of a jet project.
According to Overscan, it is the MDD type 265, which was a competitor for the AFTI program of the 70's.
In the end, a F-16 was modified (along with f15s, f111s...)

King Arthur: Can we come up and have a look?
French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.

Archi, This is Gorgeous. I can't believe such an ugly concept can be so beautifully rendered in model form. I just saw it in secretprojects.

Tell me, did you use mixed media on this, or only plastic?

UUUuuumm, I love cardboard (Cardboard, Yum!!!)
OK, I know I can't stop scratchbuilding. Someday, I will build something OOB....

Quotesuch an ugly concept
WHAT ?!!!!

Rafael, this is made of mixed materials... paper, tape, cardboard, styrene sheets and... Su-24 drop tanks fro the engine nacelles (plus Falcon 20 engines).

Well, your model betters the concept by 100%. I like it most

Personnal opinion of mine: beautiful concept, beautiful model... ;)
[the word "realistic" hurts my heart...]

Hmmm, lets see:
If you add the front end of the airfix EF2000, + aft end of a 1/144 SR-71, and horisontal stabilisors from an F-16 as vertical stabilisors. Wings off a Yak-130...

Very well done archie, and nice plane you chose to model!

Canopy from a F-18 (God bless Heller) , nose from a 2000 drop tank, rear end cut into a styren sheet, nacelles made of Falcon 20 engines+ Su-24 drop tanks, wings and tail made from styrene again  B) undercarriage from a Phantom with (plenty of) wheels from a Mirage IV.
Fill the gaps with tape, paper, and putty (and tag / label... how do you say etiquette in english)

Ah, you mean the red crosses ? sorry, that was a mistake!
but more pics will come (here).
The bird has dried now, but some putty was needed on the nose (now its the putty which is drying   )
And this damned vertical surface below the nose didn't glued correctly (salope!)  and has gone away this morning...  <_<

Archie you've got another winner! My hat is off to your talent and skill and imagination! Building whiffs is great but building them out of such unusual materials takes special ability.

I like your blue models best. Maybe that's the reason for your member title?

Interesting concept jet...did they ever get them off the tarmac?  Cool little build, also !

By the bye, Brian, His call sign is "Blue Balls" .

Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.

Thanks for the cheers comments! Ctuhulu, this marvel stayed on the MDD drawing board  :( and a boring, f.ckd F-16 was modified instead.
More pics

I improved the model since then! Engine nacelles were too long compared to the pic, so I added some styren. And another coat of blue paint :)
