Does any of you have a pic of AN/ALE-40 chaff/flare dispenser?

Can any of you tell me what is those small louvres in the sides of CFT?

Thank you in advance.

Dont forget, frameless windshield, larger tail surfaces, stealthy air intkaes (like superhornet)

Hmmm... me gusta este projecto! What camo and markings ? Ejercito del Aire ? instead of their Hornets, or an upgrade of their Phantom fleet ?

  :tornado:
King Arthur: Can we come up and have a look?
French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.

See my pics in your post here.

I wonder if the SAMI resin recon pack for the TSR2 would be roughly the same size and shape?  It looks similar.

Quote from: Jeffry Fontaine on December 30, 2006, 03:44:33 PMThe vents situated on the side of the conformal tank are for the engine doors that are located on the underside of the aircraft.  When parked these doors are open and are located on either side of the centerline pylon.  In flight these doors apparently close up flush but are used to provide additional air flow to the engines while on the ground.
The vents are probably just that, louvers to allow cooling air for the avionics in the conformal pallet to exit; much like similar louvers exist on the spine of some two-seat F-16s.  The biggest headache may be doing the PW1120 exhaust nozzles unless you can clone the one from the Anigrand Lavi kit.  I'm using a different approach, combining 1/100 F100 nozzles with the undersize "Spey" nozzles from an early and inaccurate F-4K kit.   If there's interest, I could send my masters to someone who does a lot of molding to have them replicated.

Here is the current status of this project.

I have seen some photos of PW1120 http://www.b-domke.de/AviationImages/SuperPhantom.html and I think that these nozzles in my pic from Hasegawa's old F-4E are close enough to PW1120's ones. What do you think?

hi all
maybe I want build it from the FG.1 kit...
any chance to install the late tomcat engines in the phantom?
is there enough space to install it?
has anyone two F-14 B+ or D nozzles for trade?
must the undercarriage be rebuild because the weight of the new version?
another question is...
when the 1100 gallon tank is installed...why stil two other tanks?
would such a phantom be used as a fighter or fighter-bomber like the F-15D?
the sketch shows AA weapons only...
many thanks for the help any any answer

BTW: FG.1 has short nose and nogun. This imply changes in leading fairing.

 Please add a huge load of laser guided bombs (6? 3 on each of the 2 pylons)   4 amraams (naturally) centerline drop tank   wing tanks   and possibly 4 amraams or sidewinders outboard of the tanks? (2 on each pylon)

What provisions did you make for the vents and air doors on the underside? Your conformal tank is cool but it covers those vital passageways.

Look at the drawings in the top of thread. There are louvres. I just reproduced them.

Beside the vents which your louvers address, there are these doors.

Nasty things happen if these doors don't function. Maybe they could be incorporated on the sides of your conformal tank.

I remember at one time there was a thought of adding the conformal tank to the top of the aircraft which also included a redesign of the cockpit arrangement to facilitate better visibility from the rear seat.
