Given all the little countries derived from the former Soviet Union, I keep wanting to steal a country name from an old Saturday morning cartoon show, Trashkanistan.  *chuckle* Points to those who can tell me *what* show. :D

If people are interested in this concept then I propose that for the purpose of the build that we try something a little different. We do more than just build a model/s

We would also :-

Create a country. Include geography and any other features worth mentioning. Maps are optional.

Create a history for that country.

Populate it with various ethnic groups or just one depending on the nature of the country in question.

Describe the type of Govt (If any)

list the various types of military hardware used by the country currently.

Design the markings used by that nation.

As everybody has constraints on their time I would suggest that people can make it as simple or as complex as they desire. The models are the goal but the rest of the information gives the build another dimension.

What does everybody else think?

I like that idea. It gives the whole build a little more depth than just a model.

gunfighter

Describe also relationships with possible neighbours, friends or foes, throughout their history, and weapons careers between them.
Next step wars between them, of course  ^_^

Liking this idea even better. I'm in with the either 'Republic of Lemuria' or 'The Indus Valley Confederation'
If you love, love without reservation; If you fight, fight without fear - THAT is the way of the warrior

If you go into battle knowing you will die, then you will live. If you go into battle hoping to live, then you will die

Flesh it out as much as you want.

The more detail about your fictional country gives the model and markings depth.

I agree, I think it makes it more interesting if the model represents a country/group that has a history. Even if it is a fictious one. I'm not great with graphics but I'll be adding my own nation shortly.

I have had a brain wave.

Why don't we incorporate this idea into the secret santa build?

This way we do not overload people with group builds  and we get to make the secret santa a bit more interesting.

Thoughts?

That's not a bad idea, Sisko! I think we've had some great ideas for group builds lately, but unfortunately, there's only room for so many.

illithid00, the Secret Santa group build is something we do every year around Christmas. When you agree to participate, you send a kit from your stash to another participant and one of the other participants sends a kit to you. Here's the link to the last one that just concluded a few days ago. Welcome to What-If!
