More appropriate for an A or C model, I know, but how about a sneak peak at the inevitable 'Thunderbirds' and 'Blue Angels' Lghtnings?
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

QuoteZac, be careful or you'll end up with something like this!

I really should finish it

I picked up an alternative history novel last night and it has an F-35 with Nazi markings on it...oddly enough it didn't look bad. Can't wait to see what you choose for yours :)
Is that a Colonial Martian Fighter I see..?

QuoteWhat I've decided on is three-tone desert splinter RAAF ground pounder

Zac,

If you are interested, you could do a slight variation on this and paint the F-35 up in the colours used by the 3 SQN P-40s during WWII.  Maybe like a commemorative paint scheme for 3SQN's 100th birthday (2016):

GregTX, that's a great idea! Maybe even "CV" tailcodes..............hmm, I like this idea..........exactly the same, but splinter...............thankyou!

Jeff - BRILLIAAAAANT! Lana really digs the camo scheme BTW.

B777LR - so many great ideas, so few kits! Get me the models and I'll do them!

Brian - thank you bro. It's as easy as two coats Tamiya Flat Black, one drybrushed coat Chrome Aluminum.

Shasper - hehehehe..............I can't really tell too much until the decals arrive from the UK (thankyou IHG), but I'll tell you this - IT'S A CONTRAPROP T-TAIL!!!!

I've decided to carry this over to the Workbench thread (funny that!) and there you will see more, new pics!

Thanks for the interest! I love all the comments!

Excalibur

If you haven't already decided how about Royal Australian Navy (for the newly acquired Aircraft Carrier) you could do it up in blue/blue gray camo.

Nigel Bunker

What about with all access panels open, fitter's feet protruding from them accompanied by the cry "How do we get it to work". Sory, that's a what when ,not a what if.
Life's too short to apply all the stencils

Re: Panda F-35.

There are two distinct versions of this kit now available.  The first kit is just a pantographed scale up of the original Italeri kit while the second version has all of the faults of the original but now includes the weapons bays with AMRAAM missiles and a bomb shape that is supposed to pass for one of those JDAM weapons (looks like the same weapon shape that comes with the 1/48th scale F-22 from Italeri and RoG).

Figures that you would know this.   ;)
How would a buyer know which one is which?  Differing box-art or do you go by the kit number or Copyright date?

Barry,

The kit box images will allow you to know which version of the F-35 you are getting.  The new improved version has images of the open weapons bays on the kit box.  The markings are for NATO and Royal Navy for the two versions that have the weapons.
