I Could not Agree more Maverick this place seems less a forum as a local Pub of Friends and Family. The greatist Praise I have recieved for many of my models have not come from the people on Finescale (My OTHER Forum) but from my fellow WHIFFING Bretheren,Lunatics,Deviants,FOOLS,etc etc........ :P I have NEVER REGRETTED the day I joined the Congregation of WHIFFERY. and my Deepest gratitude to Eddie M for inviting me here! May you all have a great 2007

I couldn't agree with you more Maverick!

If there's one word to describe this site it would have to be inspiration!.

I have never gotten the sort of continuous inspiration to create like I do from this site. The people here are with out a doubt the nicest people I've come across on the internet. I believe this site to be unique on the net, I know of no other board where the participants are so well respecting of each other.

This site has been solely responsible for getting me back into modelling after many, many years of Advanced Modellers Syndrome (AMS). The JMN's of this world almost killed off my enthusiasm for modelling completely, this site brought all the enthusiasm back, and, like I said previously, the inspiration!

Also I see this site and 'whiffing' in general growing and growing, I see more and more modellers on the main modelling boards building the odd 'what if' model here and there. Also on the competition tables around the world we are seeing more 'what if' models than ever before. Could it go mainstream? Well in a way I hope not. I like the fact that its a 'niche artform'.

So to all of you I say a hearty THANK YOU!

Thank you for the inspiration, thank you for this site and thank you for the comradeship!

Thank you. :P

The one thing I just can't figure out is, why does nobody on this board snipe, bicker, call names, throw sand, or otherwise act like the people on just about every other board (model related or not) that I've ever visited?  Is something *wrong* with you people?  Sheesh... you need to lose some of the maturity and comportment.  Start some mud-slinging and catfights! :)

I personally think that by and large, this is prevented because no one around here gets into politics or is too nationalistic. This is a good thing since almost every forum I'm on gets bogged down in that nonsense. Its childish and nothing productive can come out of it.To be honest, thats why I come here more often then I visit the others.Ever since I accidently found this site,I can't get enough of it.Really glad to have found a place to do profiles of aircraft  without getting 101 reasons why it could never be.Hoping all you guys (and girls) have a great New Years.

Mudslinging and cat fights could be fun...to watch.  ;)

OK, I'll go to my room now...

BTW, a definite big thanks to all who keep this site so much fun to visit. Which would probably encompass everyone, but especially the ones who keep the hamsters running at full speed all the time to keep the servers going.

QuoteThat, and we threaten to withhold beer from the Canadians
Actually, that causes greater rioting.  It's when you threaten to replace their superior Canadian beer with Coors Light that it falls silent around here, and the "Christmas Truce" occurs over and over and over (I'd say Pabst Blue Ribbon, but, well, I like Pabst, especially after I'm already unsober).

3 Cheers to everybody here from soggy Vancouver, USA as well.    It's great to be able to think aloud, toss a few ideas around for feasability, and see what comes of it.

What a great place to hang out.

Nothing much to add except "thank you" - thank you for your ideas, comments, work, and like-minded madness.  :P

Happy New Years to all (unless of course you don't celebrate new years yet, in which case, cache it until you do. :) )
Someday, I'll even finish a model ...

Well said Mav!

In the decade before I found this site I built 6 models.  In the two years since I've built about 25.  ALL due to the inspiration and camaraderie on this site.

Happy 2007 to all!
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

I agree wholeheartedly John. Pure and simple.

I ca;t imagine my modeling life without you guys. I Know that 2007 will see many great projects started (not necessarily finished - you all know who you are), and just as many friendships.

I feel fortunate to count myself among those on this board. Every day I log on I'm astounded at the sheer creativity. You guys are simply the best. Better than all the rest. Better than anyone I've ever met.  ;)

Cheers and all of you have a magnificently whiffy 007!

Howard of Effingham

yup i agree wholeheartedly with maverick.

the inspiration one gets from this site is always very helpful.

whether you do 'em with spats  , cardboard or even styrene
there is always something here for everyone. you never need to feel that you are
alone with ideas you might have for a build.

best wishes and kind regards to everyone for 2007.

Well said Maverick

It was the Wookster's late lamented "Padded Cell" and this site which really got me back into modelling. I've always found it an inspiration, and I've also found it educational. I've learned more about aircraft design then I could ever had from books - thank you Evan and many others -, I've learnt some new skills and ways to do things, I've also been distracted far to much from a current project

But above all I've met and made friends - be they of the cyber kind or the real kind here in the UK.

So thanks for a great couple of years lads and here's to a lot more

Chris
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Scooterman

I agree with Mav and everyone else with this to add.  If it wasn't for finding the happy land of Whif and all the nutters that reside here, I probably would have dropped out of modeling.  After suffering many long years of model burnout and AMS, this place (and my trip to SMW a few years ago) completely cured me and I crank a piece out every month or so.

So to all my wiffing brothers and sisters, MANY THANKS, and have a safe and prosper 2007.
