Continued from my exceedingly popular initial announcement/idea thread in "General Modeling Topics".

Here's the previously-mentioned filled-in lifting fan:

I forsee more filler than I expected on this pup, and a bit of sanding where the lift fan doors meet - and start. Ah jeez, thanks Italeri! <_<

Having loads of fun on this - even Lana agrees its a good-looking beastie! "But it's still a jet" she says, eyes narrowed! I love it! Just looks so right! I bet Kelly is looking down and approves of LockMart's design decisions!

These pics are in response to overwhelming popular demand for more pics!

Of the model, of course..........in no conceivable time would I think of promoting images of Lana's, um, y'know, "natural talents"....... :P

More pics soon!

Yowsa Zac that's looking really sweet! And the F-35 is nice too.

Speaking of the F-35, it's great to see more of your burner can magic again!

Hmm, thats the same kit i built, i needed no sanding at all! Perfect fit for me!

Not bad for a TFX2 kit! Keep it up!

Thanks Shas! TFX2?

B777LR - Did you do the lift-fan doors open or closed? And could I see some pics? I haven't seen this kit done by anyone yet! B)  I'd be interested to see what scheme you did, too!

Brian - you're too kind! It;s just Tamiya Flat Black x2 and then a drybrush run with Chrome Aluminum.

I've attached the doors on the underside (again for the lift fan), and done some sanding on the spine to get the doors there nice 'n' flush. May make a start on the paintjob after work tomorrow! I also need to get some details done on the pilot, too.

Updates as and when.

They where also closed. It is currently in a box in the garage, so might first be next year   and it was a non-whatif

Next year i will buy another and do it whiff!!!  :tornado:  :tank:  :ar:

K5054NZ

Cool stuff dude, looking forward to it! Non-whiffs are still cool! ;)  ;)

Did some more sanding and (hopefully) the last coat of the evil Tamiya Gloss White on the wheel legs, wheels and wheel wells. And the wheel well covers.

God I hate painting white       .

Updates as and when!

Tactical Fighter eXperimential, the program that resulted in the F-111. I call the JSF "TFX2" because it seems that the brass at the potomic funny farm (Pentagon) have forgotten what happened the last time they tried to get everyone flying the same A/C (even thou it was ol' uncle Mac & his wiz kidz over at DoD that had the idea for the -111 in the first place).

While the F-35 design is appealing to me, calling it the TFX2 should tell you how I view the whole project  ;)

Does Lana know about these pics? ;)
Man, we should have cloned twenties. Jackson wouldn't have given a poo-poo.

K5054NZ

Yeah, she does. Surprisingly, she hasn't hit me once for posting them!

As I once more have two days off in a row (BRILLLIAAAAAAANT! ;) ) I plan on hitting the F-35B with a vengeance tomorrow......no, not the Vultee!.........and possibly starting on a basecoat of tan.

As always, updates as and when!

Cheers,

Zac

Yeah, that plan sorta fell through. All I ended up doing was doing some PSR around the intakes - and cementing on the intakes.

For some reason the U/C was pink so (sorry Rad! :( ) I touched up with some more white.

Tomorrow, alongside the Hawk 100, I plan on improvising some sort of camo for the F-35B. I may end up leaving the 3 Sqn 100th scheme for another time and concentrate on just the desert splinter idea. Stay tuned!

Cheers,

Zac

Nice work Zac.

Don't take this the wrong way but your work is getting better and better.

Looking forward to seeing more......................model that is. :P
Get this Cheese to sick bay!

Wow this one's coming together nicely, Zacster! Each build is even more excellent than the one before. I really enjoy seeing your progress. It gives me hope that I will do as well one day when I grow up. ;)
